Reilly Recognized for Excellence
Ridgewood High School science teacher, Nancy
Reilly, received the 2015 Teacher of the Year
recognition award this past Tuesday in a cere-
mony held in the Education Center of Ridge-
wood Public Schools.
The award is given to outstanding teachers for
who have effectively created a student-
centered learning environment, used innova-
tive and effective instructional strategies, and
have developed feelings of self-worth and love
of learning in students. Nancy Reilly has
demonstrated all those qualities and more.
A teacher of biophysical science and physics,
she is also an advisor of RHS’ Interact Club
which helps to improve the life of students and
the community through volunteerism.

National History Bowl
The Ridgewood High School History Bowl A
Team finished ninth place out of one hundred
and fifty teams in Arlington, Virginia during the
national championship competition.
Additionally, the team of Ben Bechtold and
Thomas Cleary finished in the quarter finals of
the competition.

RHS POLICY CORNER: Driving/Biking/Skateboarding to School
The use of skateboards and roller blades is not permitted on
Ridgewood High School property. These items are not to be carried
to class. Students must leave these items in their lockers. Mopeds
and bicycles may only be parked in the area designated at the en-
trance to the courtyard.
There is NO STUDENT PARKING ON RIDGEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL
PROPERTY for automobiles. This includes the area on Heermance in
front of the football field. That is considered staff parking only dur-
ing school operating hours. Students who do park in unauthorized
areas will be subject to municipal fines, towing and/or disciplinary
action. Please note: There will be NO COURTESY WARNING for the
first offense.
Unauthorized cars parked in the Faculty Parking Lot will be ticketed
and towed at the owner’s expense. Afterschool detention(s) may
also be assigned.
Ridgewood Girls Soar to Fourteenth
The Ridgewood Girls’ Lacrosse Team had a big game
this past weekend, finally beating Moorestown by a
single point in over-time. This victory brings the
team’s record to 11-0. The win propels the RHS girls
team into the top twenty-five in national rankings.
Moorestown High School was previously ranked sixth
in the nation, but with the loss to Ridgewood High
School has moved down to eighth. Meanwhile, the
victory has moved the Maroon girls to fourteenth
place among the national rankings, according to Lax
Magazine.
