HighlightsThe Valmet 901.4 is part of a brand new generation of thinning harvesters, combining old and new advantages to deliver optimum profitability. Here are a few of the essential new features and benefits:
Highlights Brand new MaxiXplorer control and information system, infi nitely more powerful, faster, and easier to use than its predecessor.
Refi ned transmission to optimize everything from traction to maneuverability and speed.
New and larger cab, 32% roomier. New ventilation and improved ECC (Electronic Climate Control) for considerably better air quality, comfort, and performance.
Market-leading cab environment, refl ected in everything from the ergonomic use of space to the solutions for an extra seat, storage spaces, bottle/thermos holder, PC/printer storage, and more.
The unique boom position beside the cab ensures the harvest is always right in front of you.
Thinning with maximum profi tability has a new name – the Valmet 901.4. As soon as you climb into the cab, you’ll realize the extent of the changes. The 901’s new cab is considerably roomier than that of its predecessor, the dot-3. It has grown from the operator’s perspective in every direction. A full 32% more space can do wonders for both job satisfaction and productivity.
Consider the headroom, for example, which is now almost 20% higher. The standing area in front of the driving seat makes it easy stretch and take a short standing break. The larger interior with it’s vast windows also means better visibility. There is space for a passenger, and more room with better placement for storage,
including the PC/printer. Combined with the cab’s unique full-circle slewing and the equally unique leveling, this is the market’s most high-performance operator environment.
But that’s not all. Another new feature is the greatly improved air quality, achieved with new ventilation and improved air conditioning. The MaxiXplorer computer system is brand new, too, offering revolutionary user-friendliness, better performance, and unprecedented speed.
Naturally, all its former glory remains. The maneuverability and versatility of the 901.4 is now even better with the improved transmission. The long reach and large work area are as impressive as as ever, but now its better and even more enjoyable to own.
The thinning harvesterof tomorrow today.
Extremely cost-effi cient, with fuel economy, reliability, and
ease of service comprising important factors.
Superior auto-leveling ensures you always sit on a level, enabling you to perform better.
Information systemBrand new MaxiXplorer control and information system, infi nitely more powerful, faster, and easier to use than its predecessor.
New larger cab, a full 32% roomier, optimizes the high-performance operator environment and even provides room for an instructor.
Best possible productivity through high performance operator environment, maximum maneuverability, and wide working range.
The full-circle slewing cab ensures that the operator is always in the center and thereby eliminates head turning and provides perfect visibility and comfort.

Why choose a Valmet harvester?High productivity, low operating costs, innovative technology, superb operator environment – these are just some of the features that make Valmet forestry machines some of the best in the world. Behind all this is a highly-focused strategy to continually build upon the advantages of owning a Valmet harvester. A strategy based on the following principal ideas.
ErgonomicsYour forestry machine is a mobile work environment where the operator’s opportunities to perform optimally without tiring are a decisive factor for success. This is an important reference point that has helped develop the unique ergonomic advantages of Valmet harvesters. These include leveling cabs and booms mounted together, keeping the harvesting head centered in the fi eld of vision.
EconomyThe ambition to maximize profi tability is one of the most important forces driving the development of Valmet harvesters. Each small improvement that increases productivity and reliability, reduces costs, or saves time is of interest. Tangible and quantifi able examples from today’s Valmet harvesters include fuel-effi cient engines, highly effi cient hydraulics, fast heads, and unsurpassed productivity.
ProductivityMore work in less time – a comment we often hear from contractors who switch from competing brands to Valmet. There are many reasons, large and small. The most important include extremely high-performance operator environments, great maneuverability, effective heads, powerful control and information systems, and large work areas from stationary positions.
Customer SupportFast and competent service bears directly on forestry machine performance and economy An extensive service network provides the Valmet owner with a sense of security. Well-trained technicians provide additional assurance, as they are Valmet experts. Another benefi t is ProSelect, our special line of accessories and consumables. The range is based on a selection of items that are all of the highest quality and designed for both Valmet and other brands of professional forest machinery.
EnvironmentForests are an essential and fragile element of the global ecology. Consequently, every new Valmet product, and all its component parts, is considered from both short-term and long-term environmental perspectives. This has resulted in real environmental improvements such as highly-effective exhaust emission control and low, evenly-distributed ground pressure in Valmet harvesters. Environmental considerations also permeate our broad range of accessories and consumables, such as in our special, rapidly biodegradable oils.
Global ExperienceValmet harvesters are found the world over. Consequently, they are designed to deliver optimum profi tability regardless of conditions. The same fundamental concept is applied to our global service and dealer network that provides support to thousands of Valmet owners on a daily basis.
