This week the Outreach Office served 237 people, 54 families asking for food assistance. We see many new neighbors who have never needed food before. All of them are very grateful for the ability to bring food home to feed their families. All this is possible because of the tremendous outpouring of generosity from St. John the Apostle parishioners, together with donations from Good Shepherd and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parishes. Thank you for your help during these uncertain and trying times. It has been a wonderful opportunity to spread God’s love to many new neighbors.

Esta semana, la Oficina de Servicios Sociales atendió a 237 personas, 54 familias que solicitaron asistencia de alimentos. Vemos muchos nuevos vecinos que nunca antes habían necesitado comida. Todos ellos están muy agradecidos por la capacidad de llevar comida a casa para alimentar a sus familias. Food Pantry

During these unique, trying times we have all seen examples of fear, of hoarding, of selfishness. But you trusted and you gave! The last week has shown the true spirit of our parish. Donations of food have streamed in to help care for our brothers and sisters in need. The clients are very grateful for the assistance as a reflection of God’s love. Please continue this generosity by a donation, especially:

Laundry Detergent Pasta Sauce Gift Cards Monetary DonationsCards to place in bags (e.g. “May God bless you” with a picture)

Food Pantry hours:Monday & Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Tuesday & Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Donations can be brought to the Food Pantry during open hours. If that is not convenient, please bring them to the Administration Building. Food and supplies should be placed outside of the glass door on the north side of the building, and checks, cash or cards should be deposited through the mail slot near the front doors.

Act of Spiritual CommunionMy Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You.

Adoration of the Blessed SacramentWe have resumed our normal Thursday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 8:45 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Signups for Eucharistic Adoration are available through our webpage in one hour or 30 minute increments. Please wear a mask and wait outside of the church, by the entrance located across from the Parish Office, and a Church Staff Monitor will escort you in. Adorers must be signed up on the schedule and follow all guidelines and instruction from the monitor. In an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible, Adoration attendance will be very limited. A link to sign up for Adoration as well as our Adoration guidelines and protocols may be found on our webpage.

I am praying for them…John 17:9Prayer is the foundation of our Faith and the foundation of Stewardship. Pray in good times and in bad. Prayer is always the first best option in any situation, not just the last resort. Pray for friends and family and for those that don’t treat you very well. Pray to give praise, to thank and to ask God for help. Pray to see what God wants you to do with the gifts He has given you.
