Transcript of A source of inspiration for students
In your classrooms everyday, who will you see?
A child of poverty from
Nashville, Tennessee?
An English language
learner from Milwaukee?
A child that speaks and
reads behind his peers?
A student who is “fair in
arithmetic,weak in
handwriting”?
A child who needs more time to do
tasks?
A student who requires more time to finishclass work?
An awkward boy?
An awkward girl?
A child sent away by her
parents?
A child who aspired to be
the class clown?
An intensely stubborn
girl?
A student who dreams of
becoming a professional
tennis player?
A student born into poverty?
A student with
seemingly unrealistic dreams?
A child who sees things
differently from others?
A child who does not follow the
rules?
A child who can hardly read or
write but speaks
in poetry?
A child who is bored and
almost drops out of
school?
A child whose teacher said he’d never amount to anything because he couldn’t focus?
A child with
dyslexia?
A child raised by
grandparents?
We often find in others
exactly what we look for.
This year . . .
Who will you see?
Teach our students to believe in
themselves…
Help them recognize their strengths…
Never forget that the teacher is the single most important
factor in the classroom…
Schools and caring educators with high expectations do
make a difference.

Once you choose hope,
anything's possible.
