A Sonnet For Brit. Lit. II
Sometime last night I looked to the skyAnd saw engulfed in colors grey and blue
The stars and planets and moon sailing byWith a faint, silver, luminescent hue.
The atmosphere an airy cloak and black Became more dappled with cloud and with lightAs the evening waned and I turned my back For the sun had come to cover the night.
I sat on my hill as the sun rose high,A little robin kept me company. She sang; I lay back and stared at the sky
And waited for mornings rays to kiss me.
My night, having been spent, I longed for bedBut slept where I lay, pillow grass for my head.
