Resists more than 10 years in sea water while even

very expensive stainless steel grades corrode in sea

water

● From 1973 to 1983, 5 RFP coated plates (1 white, 1

black, 1 green, 1 red and 1 blue) have been

immersion in seawater in a Normandy harbor.

Immersion depth : 0.2 to 1 mm below seawater

● The products were applied by dipping with a primer

(Rilsan® thickness >250µ)

● Regular inspection of the samples

● Results after 10 years :

 No rust point

 No blistering

Adhesion between 2.5 and 4 according to NFT 58-112

(good to very good)

Durability (sea water)

Ageing of coated carbon steel plates in seawater at 80°°°°C for 6 months (accelerated ageing).

After 6 months, Rilsan® coating exhibits no point of rust or blistering, on the contrary to usual marine paints

Rilsan® can be used for years at 20°°°°C without any point of rust
