Company/Speaker Information Engr. Melvin C. Arceo worked at Protocols internet and also a review director in TOP ECE Review Center. He also became an editor in chief of MGA Publishing. He graduated from Technological Institute of the Philippines in 2004, became a faculty member of Asia Pacific College, TIP QC, Laguna State Polytechnic University and AMA Computer Learning Center. Explain what value did you get from this activity The seminar “VLAN and InterVLAN Configuration” is one of the components needs to learn computer networking. As ECE students, we are connected also connected in this field. As our speakers goes on with the seminar, we easily adopt those simple configurations about computers because we do have a course "Data Communications". He gave us an introduction about the software Packet Tracer. Packet Tracer is a powerful network simulator that can be utilized in training for CCNA and CCNP certification exam by allowing students to create networks with an almost unlimited number of devices and to experience troubleshooting without having to buy real Cisco routers or switches. We learn how to simulate simple network connection with this software. Engr. Arceo talked also about his achievements, and for us students he gave us inspiration to pursue more and choose what really we want to do after we graduate. Discuss how the current critical issues that confront the society affect the practice of your profession Nowadays, Almost all of Telecommunications Industries here in the Philippines and abroad needs a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certificate, if we want to part of them. CCNA certification becomes a very important thing for networking professionals.
