Alim High School is a boarding school for boys. At Alim we offer the 8.4.4

system of education. Having started just 3 years ago, we have over 200

students from all parts of the country including Mombasa, Lamu and its

islands, Nairobi, North Eastern, Rift Valley and Western Kenya.

In 2011 Alim High School sat for the KCSE examination for the first time and

we achieved the mean grade of B (minus). Alim was among the top ten best

schools in Machakos County in position 8. Nationally, Alim High School was

placed in position 71 among the top best performing private schools. Among

predominantly Muslim schools, Alim High School was up there in the same

league as WAMY High School, Sheikh Khalifa and Abu Huraira.

OUR LEARNING RESOURCES

Alim High has all the necessary basic facilities to ensure top performance.

We have fully equipped science and computer labs. Islamic Religious

Education (IRE) and Arabic are part of the school curriculum. The school

mosque gives the students the opportunity to be practicing Muslims.

To ensure a high standard, we admit students as follows:Form I: Students must have scored 300 marks or above in KCPE and pass an admission testForm II: Students must have scored 300 marks or above. In addition they must be among top students in their former schools and also pass our written interview. NB: We DO NOT admit students into Forms III and IV classes because we believe we must nurture our students from an early stage.

OUR ADMISSION POLICY

Tree planting is an activity that is ongoing throughout the school environs. Professor Abdulrazak Shaukat, CEO, National Council for Science and Technology with the Director of Alim High School, Mr. Ahmed Yussuf planting a tree at the school.

Greenhouse farming and drip irrigation farming methods are being used to produce vegetables at the school.

WE ARE ECO-FRIENDLY

Conservation efforts such as digging trenchesto arrest soil erosion in partnership with

Friends of Alim High School.

A 1 kW wind turbine is part or our effortsto embrace green energy and supplement

energy usage at the school.

Alim High School is located off the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, 2 km from

Makutano on the Road to Machakos.

Public Means

Take a Machakos bound vehicle from either the Country Bus stop or the

Railway Station in Nairobi and instruct the driver to drop you at Alim High

School. You will alight at the school gate.

Private Transport

Traveling by private means from Nairobi: Follow the Nairobi-Mombasa

highway. Drive 42km to Makutano. Turn left into the road towards

Machakos. We are 2 km from the junction (Makutano).
