A principal position is available for the coming (2018-19) school year at Visitation Catholic Elementary School in Elmhurst, IL

Eucharistic Minister Workshop The second virtual workshop presented by Liturgical Training Publications will take place on January 24th

at 6:30 pm. The title of the presentation is—

“Preparing to serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.” The workshop will take place

in Room 5 in the school building. This workshop will provide you with an opportunity to reflect on your ministry to Saint Joseph Parish. This is a vital

and life giving ministry. We are looking forward to seeing on Wednesday January 24th. Persons inter-

ested in becoming an Extraordinary Minister of

Holy Communion are welcome to the workshop.

The parish of St. Joseph is starting a new “Hospitality Ministry”. If you are interested in serving in this ministry there is a sign-up board in the entrance of the church. Someone will call you to answer any questions you may have and sign you up.

As you may have noticed, we have placed ministry baskets at each of the entrances. There are five ministries during mass that you may consider sharing your talent. Those ministries are; ushers, Eucharistic ministers, lectors, sacristans and altar

servers. Inside of the ministry baskets are the names of the coordinators that you may contact if you have any questions or want to make a commitment to serve. We appreciate your prayerful consideration.

Dr. Joan Gorski is a Scripture Consultant and Director of the Biblical Institute of the Diocese of Joliet. She received her M.A. from DePaul University and earned her Doctorate in Ministry from the University of St. Mary of The Lake. She also has been running the Biblical Institute of The Diocese of Joliet since 2013 and teaching in it since 2012, along with teaching at various Universities and schools. She has also consulted in Religious

Education programs in the Chicagoland area since 1983.

In 2017 we had asked for people to sign up and make a commitment to be the adorer at their hour. This worked most of the time BUT NOT ALL THE TIME.

We would like 2 adorers at all times in case one needs to take a restroom break (hopefully not) someone doesn’t keep their com-mitment. Jesus give us life every day, he gave us hands, ears, eyes, legs, arms… to function, he gives us wisdom, strength, fortitude, virtue, ...to be better people, he gives us love, encouragement, knowledge and hope...for a better world….Let’s give back.
