1INTRODUCTIONKallol Ghosh2A cell site is a site where antennas and electronic communications equipment are placed, usually on a tower or other high place, to create a cell (or adjacent cells) in a cellular network. Cellular (cell) phones first became widely available in the United States in the 1990s, but since then their use has increased dramatically. The widespread use of cell phones has led to cell phone towers being placed in many communities. These towers, also called base stations, have electronic equipment and antennas that receive and transmit radio frequency (RF) signals. According to the RF Plan we have to install the antenna at a proper height on tower. Installation procedure is different for many others company, but there are no any complexity regarding that installation. In case of Nokia Siemens Network they dont use any loop or bend on RF cable. Reliance dont use any Jumper cable for a cell site. In this presentation we have discussed about the installation procedure and quality point of outdoor equipments. First we have to make the connection between antenna port and jumper cable and connection should be weather proofed, and other end of jumper cable should be covered by polythene. If we give mechanical tilt then it should be done at bellow, electrical tilt should be avoided at this condition because, it should be change by touching the tower body.

ANTENNA INSTALLATION :Kallol Ghosh8We have to take the antenna up on tower with the help of pulley or ropeKeep the antenna away from tower body by pulling the rope carefully.

Dummy clampKallol Ghosh20Now the bending portion of RF cable should be carefully placed by using a dummy clamp at the junction point between VCT and HCT. Then another earthing kit should be attached along with RF cable by using the cable ties and then RF cable should be placed on HCT by using the RF clamp. Earthing kit should be straight to the shelter and connect the grounding cable with EGB properly

EARTHING KIT ,(IT INCLUDESEARTHING STRIP,CABLE,WEATHER-PROOFING KIT). 1.The earthing kit must always be taken together with RF Cable.2.All earthing kits should be made in same location.3.One earthing kits should be terminated to the one hole of EGB.Lugs & Strips :Kallol Ghosh29

Copper strip Aluminum stripThere are three types of lugs 1) I-type 2) Pin type 3) Ring type Strips and lugs should be same material.

Roxtec: Quality point Kallol Ghosh30

Arrangement of RF Cable should be sector wise.Routing of RF Cable should not be crossed with each others4 Robber boots are there, each and every boot present a hole.Corner should be sealed by using silicon gelFull thread steel screw of size 1-1.5 should be used

Kallol Ghosh31RF Cable should be entered into the roxtec and mark the position of RF Cable then it should be removed from roxtec and cut the mark point on RF cable and connect the 7/8M connector. Now finally we insert the RF cable into the roxtec and connect it with Surge arrestors in same location according to sector wise. After that we have to make an s-bend on RF Cable near the roxtec.

Surge Arrestors:Kallol Ghosh32

Position of all the surge arrestors are in same. Now other end of surge arrestors should be connected with indoor jumper cable and route it on the indoor cable tray by using the cable ties.

Quality Point Of Surge Arrestor :Kallol Ghosh33All the termination of Surge arrestors and jumper cable should be hand tightPosition of all Surge arrestors should be in same sizeGrounding cable termination on surge arrestors should be properly tight.Routing of Grounding cable should be along with the same RF Cable.Position of Grounding cable should be bottom of the RF Cable. Each Grounding cable should be terminated to EGB.
