ENERGYCONSERVATION
We extend a very warm welcome to Yoichiro Ueno san, who has recently taken over as President & CEO of HCIL and we wish him all success in his new assignment and look forward to his support in taking the suppliers club to greater heights.
TThis is our rst issue of Engage for this year and we have chosen Energy Efficiency as the theme. Our endeavour is to maximise benets for our supplier fraternity by showing ways to reduce energy costs and increasing efficiencies through learnings, problem sharing and identifying the opportunities. To further this, we have completed a highly successful training program on Energy Efficiency for our West based supplierssuppliers and this year we propose to conduct similar exercises in the South region.
Safety is the mother of all initiatives to improve productivity and hence cost competiveness. Besides continuing with our successful training programs, from this year we are introducing a Safety Drive and hand-holding initiative being led by Bosch for the benet of our suppliers. IR is another focus area, where HCIL is providing immense support to the club members by providing a platform for sharing and exexchange of HR data among the suppliers. These activities are the need of the time and will help us in “Gaining an Edge” also in achieving our QCD target & make our business sustainable.
The activity calendar for 2016 – 17 is being shared with you, in the following pages of this news-letter. We look forward to your continued and active participation in the club activities during the year.

Editorial
This issue of ‘Engage’ is special as we embark on a new journey of FY 16-17 with the motto of ‘Conserving Energy’ in all forms and in every capacity. From this issue ‘Engage’ launches its e-newsletter version, a step towards significant reduction in paper consumption, to engage its readers and keep them abreast with what is happening in the club. This transition to a paper free journey will save a number of trees and is our initiative in safeguarding the environment in our own little way.
ItIt is imperative to understand and know each member of the family for effective functioning and better team work. With this thought we have introduced a new section from this issue of “Know your Members”. This issue talks about Yazaki, an important supplier of Honda.
We also take a look on the activities carried out by the club in the last quarter whether it is in energy conservation, safety, plant visit or trainings organized and imparted.
