CONGRATULATIONS!

• You’ve been hired por a new job. How well you succeed will depend in part on your personality.

• Enthusiasm, goor cheer, and hard work will go a long toward ensuring your success. But that may not be enough “It can be difficult to walk into a new organization, learn the job, learn the culture and get all the relationships right” says Guy Beaudin of RHR International firm. “There are many ways it can go wrong”, the solution, he says, is to plan for success.

PLANNING FOR SUCCESS

1.-Step: Dont try to do too much right away.

• During your first three months, focus on learning, says Beaudin. When you are starting a new job, never say, “In my old job, we used to do it this way, and therefore we should do it that way here.”

2.-.Step:Define your role• Based on your job interview, you

probably have a general understanding of your new responsabilities. Now you need details, says Dan Coughlin, author of Corporate Catalysts: How to Make your Company More Successful, Wathever Your Title, Income, or Authority. Coughlin suggest you ask your boss what he or she would most like you to accomplish in your first months, and how your performance will be measured. Then periodically update your boss on your progress with one- page reports, and ask him or her if there’s anything else you be doing.

• To succeed, you need help from other people. Get to know your fellow employees. But don’t limit yourself to the obvious choises, such as your boss, your immediate co-workers, or, if you are a….

• Manager, the people who report to you. You may need to work with people in other parts of the company, too,and with suppliers and costumers. “Be courteous and respectful, and remember you are a begginer”…...…..

5.-Step: Solve a problem

• After you have been working for a month or so, Beaudin says, you may want to try for one early win. “look for something that has been a problem in your area for a while, and that people want to see corrected”, he says.”If you can made that happen pretty quickly, it will help build your reputation. But it should not be anything that involves big change”. Once you have been working for several months you can tackle more ambitious projects.
