A-ARTS DANCE FESTIVAL

RULES

Dear colleagues, parents and dancers

Due to the covid 19 lockdown regulations, the A-Arts Dance

Festival organization has decided to present an online dance

festival. This will provide students the opportunity to perform and

develop their talents even during lockdown.

HOW TO ENTER FOR THE ONLINE A-ARTS DANCE FESTIVAL:

Make a high quality video recording of yourself

Write your name, email address, cell number, age group and category

(genre) on a piece of paper and present it at the start of the video clip so

that we can match it to your online entry. Make sure that this information is

visible on the video.

All entries must be completed on our online entry system. Please register your studio

at www.dance.artisticulta.co.za and create your own login details by entering your

email address and password. From there you can complete your entries. No late

entries will be accepted.

Use a simple background

A certificate and adjudicator report will be handed out (Emailed to your

A summary of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be announced/emailed to all

Please note all participants receiving 80% and above qualifies for the Arnold

Classic 2021. Those who have qualified for Arnold Classic 2020 will participate

in 2021 Arnold Classic event.

Please note it is imperative that dancers and teachers check spelling names and

surnames when entering on the system. The system generates the certificates. R10 fee

will be charged for faulty certificates.

6. APPEARANCE, ADJUDICATION, RESULTS AND QUERIES

Costumes, music and appearance have to be acceptable. No jewellery or nail polish is

allowed.

7. WITHDRAWALS

Withdrawals must be done before the online competition date. No fees are refundable.

8. MUSIC AND MOVEMENTS

Items with music that contain harsh or strong language will not be tolerated and

performances must be free of vulgar and provocative movements.

Please make sure the dancer is entered under the correct age groups.

10. STATUS (For solos, duets, trio’s, quartets/groups & formations)

Teachers should use their own discretion as to where they should enter a child: this

includes new studios participating for the first time in Artisticulta Festival.

Dancers are allowed to dance two years in a status. The system archives (remember)

all entries. After two years the system will warn the teacher that the dancer must

move up a status. We find that some teachers for example keep dancers in the

beginner section for 3 years which is unfair to the dancer and unfair towards the other

dancers dancing against her/him in that section.

Teachers are also not allowed to mix statuses. Our system will also warn the

teacher/dancer, and will not except the entry.

Please note that dancers are not allowed to enter twice under the same category

Only beginners are allowed to do a studio set solo which is worked out by the teacher

Attached are the section codes.

Example: Hanri Nel - 12 and under, Amateur, Modern Solo = 12 MSA (section code)

11. DANCE STYLES

Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-hop, Modern, African, Disco, Tap, Lyrical, Acrobatics, Break

dance, Freestyle, Heritage/Cultural Dance and Open section (combination of the above

mentioned dance styles or any dance style that has not been mentioned) are presented.

Teachers please stick to the style at hand when choreographing your items!
