About Hispanics In Energy
• The only community-driven public benefit corporation dedicated to promote inclusion
and participation of Hispanics in America’s energy sector.
• The concept of creating such an organization came from a former utility
commissioner, Monica Martinez, an active member of NARUC.
• The two-year-old organization has completed two policy seminars, an 8-city-tour
promoting preparedness for jobs in energy in collaboration with the American
Association of Blacks in Energy.
• Successfully branded itself with the government, community and corporate leaders
throughout America.
• Energy literacy, jobs and business are key short-term priorities as well as
organizational development and staying in contact with HIE’s network of 4,000 friends.
