As a part of Pilgrim’s 96th Anniversary celebration,Pastor Board and members took time at 3:00 p.m. Sun-day to bless Helena Mandujano’s new home, built byHabitat for Humanity in partnership with other groupssuch as Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Helena works full time; but, as a faithful member ofPilgrim, she makes attending church and Bible studywith her four children a priority. Though assisted by oth-ers, she put in the required hours of “sweat equity” onher house.

In the photo at right (front), Helena and others listento speeches made outside her garage. Pastor Board(third from left) is shown along with other Pilgrim mem-bers who came to bless Helena and her new home.

This is the second Habitat house Pilgrim hashelped build. The first was on Island Avenue last year.
