Although weeks are busy with important events, we’re off to a great start for the third and final trimester of the school year. Do you have a soon-to-be Kindergarten student in the fall of 2017? Does your neighbor or friend have a five- year old ready to start kindergarten? Make sure to attend our Oka information session for future kindergarten students, held at Oka. The process for registration will be explained, you’ll get to hear from Oka teachers, and meet staff, as they begin the smooth transition toward September. Oka’s Kindergarten Round-Up Thursday, March 23: 8:30 9:15 AM Parents and families are encouraged to come cheer on students as they participate in our upcoming Jog-A-Thon. Students will have lots of fun, our DJ will be playing music, and our field will be transformed into an action packed event! Oka Jog-A-Thon Thursday, March 30 Grades EEK-2 @ 10:15 // Grades 3-5 @ 11:30 Other Important Events on the Calendar! Tuesday, March 28 TIO FLACOS DINE-OUT ! Tuesday, April 4 PTO Meeting @ 2:15 PM ! Tuesday, April 11 FVSD Art Show between 4:00 – 7:00 PM ! While driving in the car, does your child spend more time watching a DVD, or talking to the driver or another passenger? Just a few simple and great topics to discuss include: reviewing math facts, having your child describe the best part of their school day, or trying to come up with different rhyming words. If your child were to list their greatest influences, how many of those people do they personally know? Would you make their list?
