A Meaningful Life
What is your why?
Why answers the question of vision!
“When you walk with purpose,
you collide with destiny” ~ Dr. Bertice Berry
Purpose and Destiny When you walk with purpose you collide with opportunity
Success is preparation meeting opportunity!
Those who inspire us are not driven by what they do but why they do it! - Simon Sinek
"What Comes Before Vision"- Bill Hybels
We usually teach leaders and
organizations to begin
with a Vision but vision must come from
somewhere and we say is from God but its not quite that simple
Vision Comes .....
When we allow God to use the
discontent that resides in all of
us when we see something we know is not right and we feel
compelled to address.
Models
For Our Destiny God Give Us Models
2 Kings 2:9
And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from
thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of
thy spirit be upon me.
For Our Destiny God Give Us Models
1 Corinthians 10:11
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and
they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of
the world are come.
Mentor
A Mentor Gives You LeverageEsther 2:8-15
So it came to pass, when the king's commandment and his decree was heard, and when many
maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that
Esther was brought also unto the king's house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women.
A Mentor Gives You LeverageEsther 2:8-15
Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she
required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper
of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight
of all them that looked upon her
Most successful people say they had mentors along the
way who guided and encouraged them. . . .
For Example...
General Colin Powell points to the influence of his Father;
Luther Theophilus Powell
Senator John McCain credits a high school teacher and coach whose example
helped strengthen his resolve during years of imprisonment in North Vietnam;
Oprah Winfrey cites a fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Duncan, who taught
her to little believe in herself.”
Mentors in Scripture
Deuteronomy 34:9
And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of
wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto
him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses.
Mentors in ScriptureTitus 2:3-5
the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to
much wine, teachers of good things— 4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be
discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the
word of God may not be blasphemed
Methodology
Methodology
How we should do things or how things are done!
Psalms 103:7
He made known his ways unto Moses, his
acts unto the children of Israel
MethodologyIsaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your
ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than
the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my
thoughts than your thoughts

Best PracticeGenesis 4:7
If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you,
but you should rule over it.”
Best PracticeGenesis 4:7
World English Bible
If you do well, will it not be lifted up? If you don't do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire is
for you, but you are to rule over it."
1 Kings 3:5At Gibeon the Lord
appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What
shall I give you?”
1 Kings 3:7-8Now, O Lord my God, You have
made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. 8 And Your
servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be
numbered or counted.
"I do not know how to go out or come in."
I know not how to go out or come in; in the
administration of government, to execute his office as a king, in allusion to shepherds, as kings are sometimes called, going in and out before their sheep.
In other words that he was but a child as to his
intellectual powers and capacity for government.
1 Kings 3:9
Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to
judge Your people, that I may discern between good and
evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”
Understanding?The word
‘understanding’ here means
‘knowing the deeper meaning
of something, instead of just
the façade’,
Discern?and the word ‘discern’ here
means ‘the ability to separate/
distinguish what is the right thing to do and what is
not’
2 Chronicles 1:10 (NKJV)
: “Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can
judge (i.e. rule) this great people of Yours?”
Wisdom?The word ‘wisdom’ here is
‘chokmah’ (pronounced ‘khok-maw’) in Hebrew,
which means ‘the ability to live life skillfully, or the ability to handle
a matter skillfully’.
Wisdom?Therefore, ‘God’s
wisdom given to you’ then means ‘His
ability for you to live your life
skillfully or His ability for you to handle a matter
skillfully’.
1 Kings 3:10-11The speech pleased the Lord,
that Solomon had asked this thing. 11 Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your
enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to
discern justice,
1 Kings 3:12-1312 behold, I have done according
to your words; see, I have given you a wise and
understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone
like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you.
2 Chronicles 1:11Then God said to Solomon: “Because this
was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of
your enemies, nor have you asked long life—but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that
you may judge My people over whom I have made you king—
2 Chronicles 1:12
wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the
kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have
the like.”
1 Kings 3:12-1313 And I have also
given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone
like you among the kings all your days.
