● we started at Wellington Arch● it is a nice and sunny day

● Green Park is one of three Royal Parks● Green Park is 19 hectare big● from the south end of the park

Buckingham Palace is seen

First sight:Buckingham

Palace time: 09:00 am

● the bus is very convenient● unfortunately we missed the changing

of the Royal Guard● official residence of the British

monarchy since 1837● the palace is the residence of Queen

Elizabeth II and Prince Philip● state receptions are also held in it● is home to the Queen's Gallery, the

Queen's collection of paintings● can only be visited from the inside

twice a year

Second sight I:“Big Ben”

time: 09:45 am

● the bus stops on the hard shoulder on Westminster Bridge - very comfortable to take good pictures

● unfortunately the tower is closed due to construction work

● the name Big Ben stands for "big Benjamin" and actually refers only to the largest and heaviest of the five bells located in the tower

● since 2012, it has officially been called Elizabeth Tower, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II

● formerly a prison for members of parliament

Second sight II:Palace of

Westminstertime: 09:45 am

● three towers: the world-famous Clock Tower Big Ben, the 99-metre-high Victoria Tower and the Jewel Tower

● over the centuries, Westminster Hall served as a place for court hearings for the citizens and for coronation banquets and as a place of burial for a monarch

● until 1512, the Palace of Westminster was also the seat of the Royal Family

● the British Parliament has met on this site for over 900 years

Third sight:“London Eye”

time: 11:00 am

● on 10 October 1999 the ferris wheel was completely erected, due to technical problems the opening was delayed until 09 March 2000

● originally, the London Eye was only supposed to remain standing for 5 years

● at 135 metres high, it is the largest Ferris wheel in Europe - and the fourth largest in the world

● one ride takes 30 minutes and you have a 360° view

Madame Tussauds was built in 1884.

Madame Tussauds burned down in 1925 and the most wax figures were broken.
