The collegiality at BMC is second-to-none. I have worked/trained at various institutionsand can say confidently that the camaraderie at BMC is special. You develop lifelongfriendships not only with your fellow interns, but with other graduating years, specialties, and even your attendings. On various occasions, I've reached out to oldfriends/classmates whom I haven't spoken with in years, and the conversation picks up asif it was only yesterday that we were sitting in a work room crunching out dischargesummaries together.
BMC prepared me for many aspects of my career, including my current academic andresearch positions. More importantly, it provided me with the training and confidencethat I could go to any clinical setting in the world upon graduating and know I had theclinical skill set to succeed. Think about that... whereas I went on to pursue a fellowship innephrology at Johns Hopkins, I had colleagues that geared up to help with the Ebolaoutbreak, others that went on to practice care in rural, third world settings, etc. BMCequips you with the skills you need to take the next steps in your career.

I am proud of being both a clinician and a researcher(with protected time and funding to conduct myresearch) at my current position. Had it not been forthe dedicated mentors I had at BMC that instilled inme an interested for research, I would not havepursued further research training in fellowship.
