My mom told me I’ve grown

since last year. “Time to get you a new car seat,”

she says.

We get in the car to go to the store, but I don’t

even fit into my car seat anymore!

To be safe, we walk to the store. My friend Izzie reminds me to look both ways

before crossing at crosswalks.

In the parking lot, Mom tells me to watch for moving cars. I keep a safe distance

so drivers can see me.

I see so many car seats in the store. “Mom! I want that one,” I say.

I sit in my favorite car seat, but Mom says it’s too big. “Maybe next year

after you grow some more.”

Mom picks out a car seat and I sit in it. It’s the perfect size for me!

Now that I have a brand new car seat, Mom drives me to my birthday party.
