A job of my dream
I study at the Food college, which is situated in Moscow. I'll be a cooking and catering
professional. Every year we do a practice work for 2 month. This year I have done the practice
at the restaurant called "16 tons"
I had always been dreaming about traveling to England and learning English people and their eating habits. At last, my
dreams came true. Having worked at one of the English restaurants, I liked English cuisine a bit more and I would like to
tell you about some peculiarities of English eating
Breakfast
People in England enjoy a hot meal for breakfast,
fried eggs, bacon, and sausage, accompanied
by toast and tea or coffee. Traditional
breakfasts has been replaced by simple, light food mainly eaten cold:
yoghurts, fruits, any cereals with cold milk, toasts with a variety of
fillings such as: jam, butter
Tea
Tea plays an important part in life of every
Englishman. It may be called their national
drink. The English like strong and fresh tea. The English put one teaspoon
of tea for each person. Tea may mean 2 things. It's a meal and a drink
First of all, you should raise your teapot with boiling water to warm the teapot before adding four or five teaspoons of tea. The amount of tea is according to the number of people. Tea
must infuse for 5 minutes. English people usually have it with milk
Dinner
It's the biggest meal of the day. They begin with soup, followed by fish,
roast chicken, potatoes, vegetables, a sweet, fruits
and nuts.
Supper
The evening meal. People in England prefer vegetable cream soups. For
example, with tomato. For the second course, English love stakes from beef sirloin with potatoes or
vegetables as a garnish
Fish and chips
It have a special place in British cuisine. Fish and chips is sell in side streets the
shop of every English town. The pieces of fish are dipped in butter and then dropped
into deep boiling oil for a few minutes. They come out crisp and hot
Puddings
There are hundreds variations of sweet puddings in England. Each
pudding begins with the same basic ingredients of milk, sugar, eggs, flour
and butter. Many of the puddings involve fresh fruit such as raspberries
or strawberries, cream, and cakes. Bread and butter pudding is old
English favourite food
