Howard Wolf is a certified master restorer, He has been in
the cleaning, restoration and construction industries since
1984. He is the Principal and founding member of HW3
Group, and is Chairman of the ANSI Standards Committee
for the Institute for Inspection Cleaning and Restoration
Certification (IICRC). He formerly sat on the board of
directors of IICRC and was the Chairman of the S500
Consensus Body from 2001 through 2013. He has extensive
large project management and building diagnostics
experience with particular expertise in public facilities
and government agency projects. Howard has worked
almost every facet of an insurance claim, and has
represented property owners, managers, and tenants, as
well as, restorers, contractors, and insurance professionals..
Howard's knowledge of a building from the boiler room to
the board room is only rivaled by his knowledge of the
claims management process. Howard is also one of the
most sought after teacher, trainers, and speakers in the
industry today.

Howard Wolf - Professional Biography
Howard Wolf has been involved with the cleaning and restoration industries since 1984. Hestarted as a cleaning technician and carpet technician in West Bend, Wisconsin In 1989,Howard went to work for a large restoration company in Miami, Florida, while attending theUniversity of Miami. His tenure in Miami led him from the field as a crew chief, to the frontoffice performing estimating, crew management, inventory management and the position ofgeneral manager and vice president of operations. Howard has worked in every position inthe industry. Howards cool cal demeanor in a disaster situation comes from many years ofexperience, he understands how important it is to take control of the situation. He has extensive disaster and large project experience, with particular expertise in,industrial and hospitality facilities. Howard has been involved in many national disasterevents, since Hurricane Andrew in 1992, including recent events Howard has Consulted allover the United States, Canada.Howard moved back to Wisconsin in 1993. He started a carpet and rug restoration andrepair business in 1994, a construction firm in 1995 and bought a cleaning franchise in1996. In 2001, Mr. Wolf started HW3 Group, LLC, a firm committed to serving therestoration industry in the areas of investigation, research, operations, field managementand project management. HW3 Group branched out into business consulting in 2009,focusing on construction, cleaning and restoration firms. Between 2002 and 2004, Mr. Wolfsold all contracting businesses, keeping his consulting business and started an educationand technical support institution in 2007, which became the Commercial DisasterRestoration Institute in 2012. Howard has always been deeply involved in the industry as a volunteer giving back to theindustry the he loves and has been so good to him. He was involved in the Association ofWisconsin Cleaning Contractors. He served on the board for 8 years and held the offices ofTreasurer, Vice-President and President. Howard sat on the Board of Directors for theInstitute for Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) for 8 years. Howardworked with IICRC Standards since 1998. He was the sub-chair for contents remediationwith the S520 Standard for Professional Mold Remediation. He worked as Chairman of theANSI/IICRC S500 Standard for Professional Water Damage – 3rd Ed., as well as, theANSI/IICRC S500 Standard for Professional Water Damage – 4th Ed. Howard is a pastStandards Committee Vice-Chairman. Currently, he is the Chairman of the IICRC StandardsCommittee, an accredited ANSI writing body. To summarize he has written the protocolsand standards that the industry uses today and recognized as the gold standard. Howard is the founder of the Wolf Training Institute, which became the Commercial DisasterRestoration Institute (CDRI) in 2012. CDRI is a leading think-tank and education firm for thecommercial restoration industry. CDRI has course offerings, including: Basic Skills Series,Advanced Skills Series, IICRC Commercial Drying Specialist Certification, and thePowerBrokers® Series.Howard is currently the Principal of HW3 Group, LLC, a consulting, training, and claimsmanagement firm.
