1Here we come a-carolingAmong the leaves so green; Here we come a-wandering,So fair to be seen.

Love and joy come to you,And to you glad Christmas too;And God bless you and sendyou a happy New Year,And God send you a happy New Year.

We are not daily beggarsThat beg from door to door; But we are neighbors’ children,Whom you have seen before.

Good master and mistress,As you sit by the fire;Pray think of us poor children,Who wander in the mire.

God bless the master of this house,Likewise the mistress too,And all the little children,That round the table go.

2O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem!Come and behold Him, born the King of angels!O come, let us adore Him, Christ the lord!Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation,O sing, all ye citizens of heaven above!Glory to God, in the highest!O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!

Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning, Jesus, to Thee be all glory given;Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing!O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!

3Jolly Old Saint Nicholas, lean your ear this way.Don’t you tell a single soul, what I have to say.Christmas Eve is coming soon, now, you dear old man,Whisper what you’ll bring to me, tell me if you can.

When the clock is striking twelve, when I’m fast asleep,Down the chimney broad and black with your pack you’ll creep. All the stockings you will find hanging in a row.Mine will be the shortest one, you’ll be sure to know.

Johnny wants a pair of skates, Susie wants a sled,Nellie wants a picture book, yellow, blue and red.As for me, my little brain isn’t very bright.Choose for me, dear Santa Claus, what you think is right.

4Deck the hall with boughs of holly,Fa la la la la, la la la la.‘Tis the season to be jolly,Don we now our gay apparel,Troll the ancient Yuletide carol.

Fast away the old year passes,Hail the new, ye lads and lasses,Sing we joyous altogether,Heedless of the wind and weather.

5City side-walks, busy side-walks dressed in holiday style. In the air there’s a feeling of Christmas.Children laughing, people passing, meeting smile after smile,And on ev’ry street corner you hear:

Silver Bells, Silver Bells, Its’ Christmas time in the city.Ring-a-ling, hear them ring,Soon it will be Christmas day.

Strings of street-lights, even stop-lights blink a bright red and green,As the shoppers rush home with their treasures.Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch, this is Santa’s big scene,And above all this bustle you hear:

Silver Bells, Silver Bells, Its’ Christmas time in the city.Ring-a-ling, hear them ring,Soon it will be Christmas day.

6O little town of Bethlehem,How still we see thee lie;Above thy deep and dreamless sleepThe silent stars go by:Yet in thy dark streets shinethThe everlasting light; The hopes and fears of all the yearsAre met in thee tonight.

O holy Child of Bethlehem,Decent to us, we pray;Cast out our sin, and enter in, Be born in us today.

We hear the Christmas angelsThe great glad tidings tell;O come to us, abide with us,Our Lord Emmanuel!

7God rest you merry, gentlemen,Let nothing you dismay,Remember Christ our SaviorWas born on Christmas Day;To save us all from Satan’s powerWhen we were gone astray.

O tidings of comfort and joy,Comfort and joy,O tidings of comfort and joy.

From God our Heavenly Father,A blessed angel came; And unto certain ShepherdsBrought tidings of the same; How that in Bethlehem was bornThe son of God by Name.

8While by my sheep I watched at night,Glad tidings brought an angle bright:

How great my joy, *great my joy.*Joy, joy, joy,Joy, joy, joy.Praise we the Lord in heav’n on high.*Praise we the Lord in heav’n on high. *soft

There shall be born, so He did say,In Bethlehem a Child today:

There shall He lie in manger mean,Who shall redeem the world from sin:

Lord, evermore to me be nigh,Then shall my heart be filled with joy!

9Angels we have heard on high,Sweetly singing o’er the plains; and the mountains in replyEchoing their joyous strains.Gloria in Excelsis Deo.

Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why you joyous songs prolong? What the gladsome tidings beWhich inspire your heavenly song?Gloria in Excelsis Deo.

10Away in a manger, no crib for His bed,The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head; The stars in the sky looked down where He lay,The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stayClose by me forever, and love me, I pray.Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,And fit us for heaven to live with Thee there.

11Frosty the SnowmanWas a jolly happy soulWith a corncob pipe and a button noseAnd two eyes made out of coal

Frosty the SnowmanIs a fairytale they sayHe was made of snowBut the children knowHow he came to life one day

There must have been some magicIn that old silk hat they foundFor when they placed it on his headHe began to dance around

Frosty the SnowmanWas alive as he could beBut the children sayHe could laugh and playJust the same as you and me

Frosty the SnowmanKnew the sun was hot that daySo he said let’s runAnd we’ll have some funNow before I melt away

Down to the villageWith a broomstick in his handRunning here and there all around the squareSaying catch me if you can

He led them down the streets of townRight to the traffic copAnd he only paused a moment whenHe heard him holler stop

Frosty the SnowmanHad to hurry on his wayBut he waved goodbyeSaying don’t you cryI’ll be back again some day

Thumpety thump thumpThumpety thump thumpLook at Frosty goThumpety thump thumpThumpety thump thumpOver the hills of snow

12O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree!Thy leaves are so unchanging; Not only green when summer’s here,But also when tis cold and drear.O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!Thy leaves are so unchanging.

13The first Noel the angel did sayWas to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;In fields where they lay keeping their sheep,On a cold winter’s night that was so deep.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,Born is the King of Israel.

Then entered in those wise men three,Fell reverently upon their knee,And offered there in His presenceTheir gold, and myrrh, and frankincense.

14Dashing through the snow,In a one-horse open sleigh,O’er the fields we go,Laughing all the way;Bells on bob-tail ring,Making spirits bright, What fun it is to ride and singA sleighing song tonight!

Jingle bells, jingle bells,Jingle all the way!O, what fun it is to rideIn a one-horse open sleigh!

A day or two ago,I thought I’d take a ride; And soon Miss Fannie BrightWas seated by my side; The horse was lean and lank,Misfortune seemed his lot,He got into a drifted bank and then we got upsot!

Jingle bells, jingle bells,Jingle all the way!O, what fun it is to rideIn a one-horse open sleigh!

Now the ground is white,Go it while you’re young;Take the girls tonight,And sing this sleighing song;Just get a bobtail nag,Two-forty for his speed,Then hitch him to an open sleighAnd crack! you’ll take the lead.

Jingle bells, jingle bells,Jingle all the way!O, what fun it is to rideIn a one-horse open sleigh!

15When I was a seeker,I sought both night and day,I sought the Lord to help me,And He showed me the way,

Oh! Go tell it on the mountain,Over the hills and ev’ry where,Go tell it on the mountain thatJesus Christ is born!

He made me a watchman upon the city wall,And if I am a Christian,I am the least of all.

16Joy to the world! the Lord is come;Let earth receive her King;Let every heart prepare Him room,And heaven and nature sing.

Joy to the world! the Savior reigns;Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains,Repeat the sounding joy.

He rules the world with truth and grace,And makes the nations proveThe glories of His righteousness,And wonders of His Love.

17Rudolph the Red Nosed ReindeerHad a very shiny nose. And if you ever saw it,You would say it glows. All of the other reindeer,Used to laugh and call him names,They never let poor RudolphPlay in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,Santa came to say,“Rudolph with your nose so bright,Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”

Then how the reindeer loved him,And they shouted out with glee,Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,You’ll go down in history!

18Hark! The herald angels sing,“Glory to the new born King;Peace on earth, and mercy mild,God and sinners reconciled.”Joyful all ye nations, rise,Join the triumph of the skies; With the angelic hosts proclaim,“Christ is born in Bethlehem.”Hark! The herald angels sing,“Glory to the new born King!”

Hail the heav’n born Prince of Peace!Hail the Son of Righteousness!Light and life to all he brings,Ris’n with healing in His wings.Mild He lays His glory by,Born that men no more may die:Born to raise the sons of earth,Born to give them second birth.Hark! The herald angels sing,“Glory to the new born King!”

19Up on the housetop reindeer pause,Out jumps good old Santa Claus;Down thro’ the chimney with lots of toys,All for the little ones, Christmas joys.

Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn’t go!Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn’t go!Up on the house top click, click, click,Down thro’ the chimney with good Saint Nick!

First comes the stocking of little Nell,Oh, dear Santa, fill it well,Give her a dolly that laughs and cries,One that will open and shut her eyes.

Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn’t go!Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn’t go!Up on the house top click, click, click,Down thro’ the chimney with good Saint Nick!

Next comes the stocking of little Will, Oh, just see what a glorious fill! Here is a hammer and lots of tacks,Also a ball and a whip that cracks.

Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn’t go!Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn’t go!Up on the house top click, click, click,Down thro’ the chimney with good Saint Nick!

21It came upon a midnight clear,That glorious song of old, From angels bending near the earth,To touch their harps of gold;“Peace on the earth, good will to menFrom heaven’s all gracious King.”The world in solemn stillness layTo hear the angels sing.

Still thro’ the cloven skies they come,With peaceful wings unfurled; And still their heavenly music fl oatsO’er all the weary world;Above its sad and lowly plainsThey bend on hovering wing,And ever o’er its Babel soundsThe blessed angels sing.

For lo! The days are hast’ning on,By prophets seen of old,When with the ever-circling yearsShall come the time foretold,

When the new heaven and earth shall ownThe Prince of Peace their King,And the whole world send back the songWhich now the angels sing.

22We three kings of Orient are,Bearing gifts we traverse afarField and fountain, moor and mountain,Following yonder star.

O star of wonder, star of nightStar with royal beauty bright,Westward leading, still proceeding,Guide us to thy perfect light.

Glorious now behold Him arise,King and God and Sacrifi ce;Alleluia, alleluia!Earth to heaven replies.

23O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth;Long lay the world in sin and error pining,‘Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth.A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn;

Fall on your kneesOh, hear the angel voices?O night divine,O night when Christ was born!O night, O holy night,O night divine!

24 I’m dreaming of a White ChristmasJust like the ones I used to know.Where the tree tops glisten and children listenTo hear sleigh bells in the snow.I’m dreaming of a White ChristmasWith ev’ry Christmas card I write.“May your day be merry and brightAnd may all your Christmases be white.”

Slow Braised Lamb Shankwith Coratina & Malbec Wine Reduction

Recipe courtesy of Prima Oliva

Four lamb shanks½ cup flour1 Tbsp. kosher saltfresh ground pepper, to taste1 four inch sprig of rosemary, woody stems discarded4 cloves fresh garlic, minced1 medium onion minced1 large carrot, finely diced¹/³ cup Prima Oliva Gold Medal Coratina olive oil3 cups robust red wine, such as Malbec1 cup water

*This recipe can be made in a dutch over or crock pot. If using the oven, preheat to 300° degrees. In a wide shallow dish

or a gallon size Ziploc bag, mix the flour, salt and pepper. Rinse and pat the lamb shanks dry and dredge in the flour. In a large heavy bottom pan, heat the Coratina oil over medium-high heat, and brown the lamb shanks until golden brown on all sides, taking care not to overcrowd the pan, cooking for about 5 minutes per side and set aside.

In the same pan, add all of the vegetables and saute over medium heat, scraping up any browned bits, until the onions are translucent, for approximately five minutes. Pour in the wine and simmer for another couple minutes and then add cup of hot water. Add the fresh rosemary to the bottom of the crock pot or dutch oven and arrange the shanks on top. Pour the wine and vegetables over the top. Cook, covered in a heavy dutch oven for six hours or in a crock pot set on low.

After six hours, carefully remove the shanks from the liquid taking care not to allow the meat to slip off the bones. Cover to keep warm. Strain and de-fat the braising liquid. Place in a small saucepan and reduce by half. Adjust the seasoning with sea salt and fresh ground pepper. Pour the reduction over the lamb shank placed atop a bed of mashed potatoes.
