  • Introduction � In�2002�I�became�an�adjunct�professor�of�Anthropology�at�Western�Oregon�Un vers ty� and�took�over�teach ng�the r�museum�stud es�courses.�Each�year,�I�found�that�several�of� my�students�were� nterested� n�pursu ng�museum�work�as�a�career�and�wanted� nformat on�on�what�opt ons�were�ava lable�and�what�programs�were�out�there.�Towards� th s�end,�I�began�research ng�museum�stud es�programs�across�the�US�and�Canada�to� comp le� nformat on�for�my�students,�and�others,�who�may�w sh�to�move�on�to�pursue� museum�stud es�further.�What�I�found�was�that�several�pr nted�gu des,�such�as�Museum areers and Training: a Professional Guide�by�V.�Dan lov�(1994),�AAM�Techn cal� Informat on�Serv ce’s�Guide to Museum Studies and Training in the United States (by� Roxana�Adams�and�Thomas�J.�R tzenthaler,�1999),�and�the�International Directory of Museum Training, Gary�Edson,�ed tor�(1995),�are�now�out�of�date,�and�that�the�on3l ne� l st ngs�of�museum�stud es�offer ngs,�wh le�numerous,�are� ncomplete.�What� s�needed� s�a�d rectory�that�can�be�updated�on�a�regular�bas s...an�onl ne�resource.�Th s�d rectory� has�been�produced�to�help�f ll�that�need.�� � Th s�resource�has�been�created�as�a�gu de�for�people�seek ng� nformat on�on�museum3 tra n ng�offer ngs� n�the�US�and�Canada,�whether�they�are�seek ng�to�enter�the�f eld�or� have�been�a�pract c ng�profess onal�for�some�t me�and�are�look ng�for�academ c� programs�wh ch�w ll�help�them�to�advance.�The� nformat on�conta ned� s�a�d rectory�and� comp lat on�of�bas c� nformat on�on�the�var ety�of�museum3tra n ng�offer ngs�ava lable� n� the�US�and�Canada.�The�tra n ng�opt ons�have�been�d v ded� nto:��
