Before the Hunt
• Make sure all batteries are fully charged -including your mobile phone
• Check that all equipment is working correctly• Ensure that you have warm, weatherproof
clothes and shoes if you are going to an outside location
• Pack all equipment and supplies carefully• Make sure your vehicle’s fuel tank has adequate
fuel for the trip

During the Hunt
• Set up equipment and make sure everything is working
• Take loads of photographs• If doing call outs, be respectful and polite• Stop for regular breaks – it gets cold at night and
a warm beverage and a snack are usually welcome
• Make sure to pick up all equipment at the end of the night
