The ordinance states that: Public art contributes to the beauty of public areas, enhancing quality of life for the citizens of Moscow. Public art attracts tourism and provides incentives for businesses to locate in Moscow. The City of Moscow shall promote public art by the collection of one-percent of the total costs of City public capital improvement projects. We are proud of our growing collection of public art here in Moscow and we invite you to explore and celebrate it with us! Use this guide to help you locate and identify artworks or just keep your eyes open as you travel around town. There is art to be found everywhere!

The ordinance states that:

• Public art contributes to the beauty of public areas, enhancing quality of life for the citizens of Moscow.

Sculpture Garden:Five basalt plinths see a changing collection of original sculptures displayed at the new Transit Center Sculpture Garden, thanks to the efforts of students in the University of Idaho Sculpture program. The collection is changed out annually.

Moscow City Art Collection:Since 1998, the City of Moscow has been supporting local artists by purchasing a collection of 77 pieces of original art. These artworks are continually circulated throughout city workplaces, brightening the workdays of city staff.
