The House of Groove Discotheque is hosting the annual Disco Fever Contest! Groovy cats and foxy mamas from miles around will flock to the disco for a chance to compete with the in crowd of famous celebs,

musicians, entrepreneurs, and athletes. You’re ready to boogie, as you’ve practiced your groovy moves all year for this competition. You can’t

wait to show off your best moves to the judges while wearing far out disco threads. There are rumors; however, that certain dance duos have been in turmoil. Scandals are surfacing among some contestants. You

hope this drama doesn’t interfere with your chance to shake your groove thing on the dance floor. This is where your story begins, be there or be square.

upper Manhattan. A few years ago, she snuck away to a discotheque in Brooklyn where she met Tony Tuscadero. She became his legendary disco dancing partner, and they are now the reigning national disco dancing champions. Known as the

girl of a 1,000 questions, she is the most inquisitive person you'll ever meet.

Zarbi Zenton's thick country accent is the heart of her charm as the star on the rural comedy variety show - Neigh Neigh.

She lights up the barnyard stage with the famous character she plays - Dolly May, an air-headed farm girl from Nashville,

Tennessee. On the flipside, Zarbi hides her analytical side from her fans and is vindictive to those who double-cross her.

NAMETAGS the player nametags begin below. Print the name tags and slip into plastic badge holders with a pin / clip on the back. Or, you can use a plastic badge holder with a lanyard. These can be purchased at any office supply store. Another method is to have them laminated (a printing store can do this) and affix a clip to the back. However, for a more economical method –

simply print and affix to your guests with double-sided fabric safe tape

GAME STRUCTURE: the game is organized into four rounds and is structured as follows: OPTIONAL PRE-GAME STARTER: these optional pre-game tasks are to be delivered to each guest before the party, or give them to the guests as they arrive. All pre-game materials are optional. They are intended to enhance the build up for the event. These tasks are not vital to solving the mystery. Also, encourage your guests to view the Your Mystery Party guest pre-game website to get them excited about your game (this is highly encouraged). ROUND ONE: Deliver the round one clue card envelopes as your guests arrive. It is optional to serve cocktails for adults and appetizers. ROUND TWO: Deliver the round two clue card envelopes. It is optional to break for dinner either before or after this round. SOLUTION ROUND THREE: Deliver the round three solutions. It is optional to serve coffee/hot cocoa and dessert.

Don’t host a party without some type of food/beverage offering - hungry guests are not happy guests.

7:00 PM: Guests arrive. Take guest photos and serve refreshments. Have the invited guest list available for the guests to view as they trickle into the party. Once everybody has arrived, snap a group photo! 7:10 PM: The host goes over the guest instructions for the mystery game. It is optional to have each character stand up and introduce themselves to the group. You can play the game trailer video for an introduction. 7:20 PM: The round one clue cards are handed out, and the game begins. The guests mingle and discuss the clues on their clue cards. Motives will start to unfold during this round. 7:50 PM: An optional bonus game is played. 8:05 PM: An optional dinner is served. Snacks can be served throughout the party instead. 8:35 PM: The disco dancing competition is hosted. 9:00 PM: The host assists the victim to get ready and then, the victim is revealed, and the investigation of the crime begins. The mystery investigation sheets are handed out, and the guests interrogate each other (using the round two clues). Each guest should interview every player in the game. 9:30 PM: The investigation sheets (guesses of whodunit) are turned in to the host. After the sheets are collected, the guests may take turns accusing who they believe did it. 9:45 PM: Dessert and coffee may be served at this time. The round three solutions are handed out to the guests. Each player presents their solution, and the murderer confesses at the end. Allow a few minutes for the guests to mingle at the end to discuss the mystery. 10:00 PM: Another optional bonus game may be played &/or host an optional awards ceremony! To shorten the mystery party, omit the bonus games, don’t stop for dinner, omit the accusation round, and don’t host an awards ceremony. Also, you can shorten the game even further by only having the required players read their solutions (or even just the murderer). If you wish to extend the length of the party, add more bonus games!

(Contact info :___________________________) Contact the guest playing Character H and say that you don’t want to be rude, but you know Harry’s leaving roses on your doorstep every day. You are allergic to roses, so you are asking that he please stop. (Contact info :___________________________) Contact the guest playing Character B and say that you don’t want to be rude, but the pet rock is not really a pet. It’s a dumb toy ‘invention’ – if you can call it an invention. (Contact info :___________________________)

Character i – ROUND ONE CLUES TO REVEAL DURING THIS ROUND

You witnessed how talented of a disco dancer that Character I is, and now you want to be his partner in the next disco dancing contest.

Talk about your lawsuit against Character T regarding his invention. Your attorney believes you’ll lose the case, and so he called Character T’s attorney today to offer a settlement. You are angry about this. You wanted the production of the products to be stopped.

Tell Character W he never should have broken up with you in high school when you two dated.

PERSONAL CLUES TO CONCEAL Question everything that you can. You don't take

anything for granted and need to analyze every situation from multiple viewpoints.

You are still mad at Character W for dumping you in high school. He dumped you for his ex-wife (Character B’s sister). You’re embarrassed that you ever loved a loser like him.

You are suing Character I for making the pet rock on behalf of the American public. You think he is swindling people out of money.

Character V makes you sick! You can't believe he is here too. What are the odds that two men that dumped you would both be here tonight?


ROUND TWO CLUE CARDS CHARACTER r– ROUND TWO

The murder is announced here.

The question is...what happened to Character X? Was this an accident? Question the other cats in the room to see what possible motive they might

have had to get rid of Character X. CLUES: You should investigate Character G, as she wasn't

too far away from Character X when s/he fell to the floor.

You should also question Character W as she was running away from his crumpled body on the floor after s/he was discovered.

If the disco ball was the cause of death, Character X would probably have a very nasty head injury – not just a bit of redness or a bump. Disco balls never fall on their own, however.

You start wondering if a poison could have taken Characer X’s life? Was s/he holding a drink?

You don't remember seeing Chracter D or Character B on the dance floor when it happened.
