Diamond Flow On The Exchange

A DDC is created, representing a diamond’s ownership. Including:owner ID, status, gem composite score, gem subcategory, media, designated custodian information, and arrival time at the custodian’s location

The Shared investment product will offer the holder the option of a conducting a sale via a single DDC or multiple DDCs, the latter offering partial or shared ownership of a contract for the buyers

SHARED INVESTMENT

Once established, a DDC is open to short-sell positioning in the same way as other asset classes, based on a forward view on market price trends. Once a lender is identified, this requires a CEDEX deposit to cover the cost of borrowing and similar CEDEX-based collateral (calculated daily).

SHORT SALEDIAMOND BASKET (ETF)

CEDEX envisages availability of diamond backed derivatives such exchange-traded funds (ETFs) based on a basket of GIA certificates for which CEDEX creates multiple DDCs to represent partial ownership of the basket.
