PREPARATION:Sand the surface. Wipe away dust with a damp pa-per towel. Seal the entire surface with multipurpose sealer. Let dry & sand lightly again if needed.

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS:Basecoat the surface with Whispering Turquoise. Dry.

Using Snow White plus a touch of Whispering Tur-quoise and a dabber, stencil snowfl akes randomly all over the surface. Be sure not to have too much paint on the dabber as it will seep under the stencil. Add some more snowfl akes with just Snow White.

Shade around the outside of the surface with Prus-sian Blue and the ½” angle shader.

Trace on basic outlines.

Foxes:Basecoat the brown sections of the fox with Burnt Sienna. Basecoat the lighter sections with Bleached Sand.

Dry rub a highlight on the Burnt Sienna with Raw Si-enna. Do this on the faces, tails, arms, ears, and their body. Repeat if necessary to brighten.

Using an angle or fl at shader, highlight on the top of the tail, on the outsides of the arms, on the ears and on the head with Raw Sienna.

Shade with Dark Chocolate across the bottom of the tails, to divide the tails and arms from the body. Shade around the scarves and where their hands go into the mittens. Shade across the bottom of their

faces. Shade to divide the ears from the head. Shade under the father’s hat. Shade to separate the bod-ies from each other. Shade around the tree to divide it from the foxes. Shade on the face where the Burnt Sienna and Bleached Sand meet.

In the Bleached Sand section of the tails, load a round brush and add streaks of Snow White. Do this on the face and ears, fl icking a few hairs on to the Burnt Si-enna.

Dry rub with Snow White to highlight the bellies.

Trace on details as needed.

Eyes, nose, mouth, eye lashes & eye brows are Lamp Black. Highlight the nose and eyes with Snow White.

Dry rub a soft cheek with Tomato Red.

Scarves, Mittens & Hats:

Father: Scarf: Bleached Sand. The wide stripes are Hauser Me-dium Green. The thin green stripes are line with Hauser Light Green. The red stripes are Tomato Red.

Shade with Hauser Dark Green to separate the two long pieces of the scarf, to create the creases and across the bottom of the scarf. Shade down the left side of the long piece hanging in front.

Add groups of three tassels in Hauser Medium Green along the bottom of the scarf. Add dots where the tas-sels attach to the scarf with Hauser Medium Green.

Hat: Basecoat the hat Tomato Red. Shade the hat behind the brim, behind his ears and head, along the bottom of the piece hanging down and to create the creases.

Highlight with Fiery Red on the large bump on the hat and on the top side of the piece hanging down.

Stipple to brim and pompom with Dark Chocolate. In the dirty brush pick up Bleached Sand and stipple again. Using a clean brush pick up Bleached Sand and stipple again. Repeat one more time picking up Snow White.

Child fox: Scarf: Hauser Light Green. Add dots with a stylus and Tomato Red.

Shade the scarf with Hauser Dark Green to divide the long sections of the scarf, down the outside edge of the long piece of scarf, to create the creases and on the outside edge where it wraps around her neck.

Line a row of tassels along the bottom of the scarf with Hauser Light Green. Add dots where they attach to the scarf with Hauser Light Green.

Mittens: Basecoat Tomato Red. Highlight with Fiery Red along the bottom of the mitten on the left. Line the stripes with Bleached Sand. Shade with Soft Black to create the cuff and thumb and where the right mit-ten tuck behind the tree.

Mama: Tomato Red. Highlight the scarf on the outside edges of the long pieces hanging down and on the bumps on the creases.

Line the detail with Bleached Sand. Add a dot with Bleached Sand where each line intersects with another.

Shade the scarf with Soft Black to divide the sections, to create the creases and on the outside sections where it goes around her neck. Shade across the top of the scarf under her face.

Dot large red dots along the bottom of the scarf with Tomato Red.

Baby Fox: Scarf: Hauser Medium Green. Stripes are lined with Bleached Sand.

Shade the scarf to divide the scarf sections and where it tucks behind the arms.

Mittens: Basecoat Bleached Sand. Dot with Tomato Red. Shade with Soft Black.

Tree:Basecoat the tree with Holly Green.

Basecoat the trunk Milk Chocolate. Shade next to the tail and under the tree with Dark Chocolate.

Shade to divide the tree sections with Hauser Dark Green.

Using a fl at shader, load in the same manner as shad-ing/highlighting with Snow White and wiggle the brush creating a zigzag pattern for the snow on the branches. Add a highlight up the side of each section part way

and on the tip of the tree.

Basecoat the star with Sunny Day. Shade on the bot-tom of the star and up the right side with Milk Choco-late. Highlight the top and left side with Snow White.

The ornament in the baby fox’s hand is based with To-mato Red. Highlight the top with Fiery Red. Shade the bottom and around the mittens with Soft Black. The topper is a light grey mixture of Lamp Black plus Snow White.

Lights:Line the cord with Lamp Black.

Using a large stylus and dot in a pattern of Sunny Day, True Red, True Blue & Sour Apple. Dip the stylus into the paint, touch it to the surface and move the stylus in a circle motion to create a larger dot then pull out to create the top of the light. Using a small stylus and Lamp Black, dot to connect each light to the string.

“Merry Christmas”

Line with True Red.

FINISHING TOUCHES:Erase all graphite lines.

Add glamour dust paint to each of the lights.

Sunny Day – Lemon Drop

True Red – Sizzling Red

True Blue – Sapphire Blue

Sour Apple – Limelight

Add Gold Glitz Glamour Dust Paint to the start. (I did 2 coats)

Add Sizzling Red Glamour Dust Paint to the ornament in the baby’s hand and to line over “Merry Christmas.”

Pick three white snowfl akes that were stenciled on at the beginning and give them a coat of Ice Crystal Glamour Dust Paint.

Varnish with your favourite varnish.

Use the snow write to make some snow for the foxes to stand on. While it is still wet, sprinkle with Glamour Dust. Shake excess off .
