Bambinos are a new series of Bougainvillea, compact and smaller growing in habit when compared to the well known Bougainvilleas of yesteryear.

Before planting work the soil up by first incorporating compost.

After planting, water in well, mulch to 5cm with mulching material being careful to keep away from the base of the plant.

Potting - use quality potting media and never allow to dry out.

Pruning - prune to your desired size once or twice a year.

If a long water shoot appears remove it to the base.

Bambinos will withstand several degrees of frost once established.

Flowering is often better in hot dry times.

Fertilizers - Bambinos require moderate levels of food, especially when grown in containers. Fertilizers high in potash are best to encourage heavier flowering. For ground plants, the same fertilizer is suitable or supplement your usual fertilizer with sulphate of potash at label recommended rates. Liquid fertilizer should contain at least as much potash (K) as nitrogen (N).
