Synopsis

Till We Meet Again is about a young New York couple, played by a real couple, that travels to Thailand and end up being separated. The film follows their different journeys and gives the audience an opportunity to choose whom of the two characters to root for, whilst also providing plenty of room for the audience to change their minds along the way. All set with a stunning backdrop of tropical Thailand. Johan Matton and Linnea Larsdotter star in this heartbreaking portrait of two lovers on different paths.

ProductionTill we meet again is a smart multilayered "learn as you go" indie drama that gives the audience a bit more than a presentation of a fictional story. Filmed in a documentary style with two RED cam’s simultaneously made the director able to catch all ultra real and true moments from the actors. The director and producer choose to film the New York flash backs 2.5 years prior to the Thailand scenes to add to the differences in appearance for the characters.

The actors playing the couple splitting up in Thailand also stayed apart from one and another throughout the whole duration of the filming in Thailand. They instead stayed together with their co-actors playing the characters they meet on their journey in Thailand. The producer and director tried during filming and editing shape a film where you can vote for either one of the two main protagonist and even change your mind during the film. Making two very relatable characters that are completely different gives the audience a chance to vote for different people and discuss their moments and choices afterwards. The film is built with flash back that successfully tells a bit more about the couples backstory making the viewer puzzle together the story slowly as we follow them in Thailand. Bit by bit we understand why they are making the choices they make.

Challenged with an ultra low budget and a curfew/strike in Bangkok during filming made the team creatively find locations and people they never expected to work with. The overall story behind the film Till We Meet Again is as interesting as the film itself and the whole team is incredible proud for what they accomplished. The director, writer and producers chose to reassess parts of the story including Erik’s (main characters) traveling and panic attacks and made those moments more subtle. They ended up cutting 1/3 of the screenplay in editing and the Director and Producers/Writers together came up with a final cut that tells the story with the message and agenda that they first set out to tell.
