ADVENTURES IN LEARNING

We are thrilled to announce we will be holding our first inperson Adventures in Learning in over a year. Here is what you
need to know...
Location: St John's Baptist Church, 300 Hawthorne LaneCharlotte, NC 28204. Parking is located off Hawthorn Ln. the1st drive past the church. Signs will be posted directing youto the parking area as well as to the building entrance. Face masks are mandatory upon entering the building butonce in class masks are optional for those fully vaccinated.Arrive any time after 9:30 am to pick up your name tag andenjoy fellowship with other participants.Classes will begin on the hour starting at 10:00 am and runfor 50 minutes with a 10 minute break between classes. Youwill have a choice between two different classes each hour.Registration Deadline Monday, July 16th. Advance registrationis required!

Adventures in DiningAt the end of each Monday session, we will explore some of Charlotte's finest restaurants. Sign up
each Monday as you arrive. Menus and directions will be provided for this fun outing Dutch-style. The restaurants are still to be determine.

Activate Your Body: Instructor, Jennie HendersonLearn safe and effective ways to move your body. Join Jennie an ACE certified personal trainer as sheguides you through exercises that will stretch and strengthen the entire body. Modifications can bemade for all skill levels.
The United States Constitution: Instructor, Roy Colquitt A short series on the history of the United States Constitution with an examination of the varioussections, amendments and the controversies generated in today's political climate.
Islands and Evolution: Instructor, Bill Logan The unique environment of islands illustrates evolution in action with increased numbers of uniquespecies and extinctions. We will review the biota of six major islands and discuss recent lessons forpreservation of endangered species that are derived from island studies.Sketching Drawing: Instructor, Richard SolarLearn the basics of sketching and rendering landscapes, seascapes and various objects. Our mediumwill be black and white and colored pencils. Bring your sketch book and prepare to have some fun!
