Present situation in our country

Even the kids that are playing with small dolls are being agonized with lots of harassment and physical abuse.

Every parent is worried as to how they should bring up their children in this critical environment.

This is just to sensitize with some tips that would help parents to take care of their children.

Good touch v/s Bad touch

If your kid is less than 4 or 5 years of age and they can not understand much communication, just tell them very simply : “If any one touches you in your face it is ok. If some one touches any part of your body under your neck portion, you have to tell your mom”. This would surely make them feel protected to some extent.

If your child complains…

Let us say that one of your close relative touches your kid in a wrong place and the child makes a complaint about it, please understand that it is a tricky and sensitive issue because your relative is involved. Handle it very carefully. Think twice before any action or you proceed further in the matter.

Are you sending your kid for the tuition?

Please visit the tuition center and see the environment, meet the teacher and also find out how many children are coming for the tuition.

If the teacher says, “please stay back and finish the work before you go”, your child can learn to refuse it nicely.

It is better to bring a teacher home even it is a bit expensive. Your child will feel secured. And you will also be at peace.

Playing with other children

Let your child play with

the other children either in

your compound or outside

your gate.

If the child is going to the

neighbor's house, you

may allow only if there is a

female in that house.

In the school van or bus

Please take the pain of

going to the venue where

your child would alight

from the van or bus from

the school or class.

If the child is little older,

you may send her by a

cycle and let her come

with her other friends and

not alone.

If the school is suddenly closed….

If the school declares a

sudden holiday, tell your

kid to wait in the school

with her teacher till you

reach there to pick her up.

You may even give your

number to the teacher or

school management for

any emergency.

No permission to go to a friend’s house

You may not permit your

kid to go for a group

study or a night stay in

friend’s house – unless

the friend’s mother

assures to take care of

the kid.

If any stranger chases…

Let us say your kid is

grown-up and some

stranger is chasing,

please advise her to enter

a nursing home, petrol

bunk or a crowded place

or a bus stop and sit

down there for some

time. She may even call

the parent over phone for

help.

In public functions…

If the kid accompanies

you for a public function

or a wedding, always

keep an eye on the kid

and never let the kid be

alone in a less-crowded

place

Beware…Be aware

Servants, water suppliers,

or shop keepers who visit

our house frequently –

watch out as to how they

behave with your kid as

they are the ones who

share unwanted photos

or videos with the kids

when they are alone.

Better to be careful and

watchful.

If anyone expressing love to your kid…

There are lots of relatives,

friends who would like to

pick up the kid and keep

them on their lap. You

may allow them only if you

are very confident about

them. Nothing wrong to be

watchful about the person

who is holding your kid.

Going to toilets…

Kids may be wanting to go

to toilet or rest room.

Better to advise our kids

not to use public toilets.

If it is very urgent or

unavoidable, parent is

advised to accompany the

kid, as most of the

misbehavior happens only

under this circumstance.
