December was full of new and old traditions
at South Haven. Residents helped with the
decorating plans and the making of many of
the decorations. Residents, families, and
staff helped deck the halls and resident
rooms. The sights and sounds of Christmas
were everywhere!
South Haven participated in this year’s
Holiday Tour of Homes. During the Tour a
Holiday Boutique was also held at South
Haven. Our residents enjoyed having the
many visitors during the tour and the
opportunity to browse or shop.
The Alden Neighborhood hosted their Annu-
al Christmas Dinner. Soup, sandwiches and
desserts were enjoyed by all. After dinner,
guests and residents joined in singing
Christmas Carols.
South Haven’s Family Christmas Soup Din-
ner was well attended. The building was full
of laughter, smiles and chatter. Santa and
Mrs. Claus took time to stop at South Haven
too!
Carolers have been a special treat for the
residents. A big thank you to all!
Our Annual Christmas Variety Show,
performed by staff, produced many smiles
and laughs. Look for pictures in the February
Newsletter.
The Reliance Neighborhood hosted their
Annual Open House on Christmas Eve.
Wassail, hot chocolate and Christmas goodies
were served. Several evening drives were
taken to see Christmas lights.

Neighborhood News
Lakemont Plans were made for the decorating of our neighborhood. It was fun to help or watch the decorating.
We have especially enjoyed all the
carolers. Thank you!
Having our families come for the Family Soup Dinner was special.
Reliance
We decorated with our families and staff, Residents helped
make many of the decorations.
We will host our Annual Open House on Christmas Eve. We will be serving goodies, wassail
and hot chocolate.
Reliance Residents are looking forward to a fried chicken meal from Wahoo Super that will be
served on Christmas Eve
Alden
Our Family Christmas Soup Dinner and caroling was wonderful!
To celebrate the New Year we will have
kolaches and sparkling juice in champagne glasses.
All of the Alden staff have been trained
in the Buddies Forever, dementia training, program. In January we will begin discussing criteria for the “right”
staff.
The possibility of getting a different type of glass to use was discussed. The
glasses would be easier to use.
Sheridan Sheridan residents finalized their decorat-ing plans for the season. We also deco-
rated sugar cookies. The evening drives to view the Christmas lights has been very
popular!
As a group, we made gifts for the other residents in the building. We will be car-oling in the building and giving the gifts.
Our residents enjoyed having their fami-lies with them for the family soup dinner.
