Crowdfund Fife is for community groups & clubs interested in raising money from lots of people (the crowd) to get their community projects off the ground

Up to £2,000 is available to support ideas for local projects that will enhance Fife’s communities and bring people together who want to get involved.

ACTION EARTH – VOLUNTEERING MATTERS

Help Yourself Grow is a training and development programme for people with a learning disability and/or autism and have successfully gained a grant award from Action Earth to help them fund a group of volunteers to help with garden maintenance and provide an invaluable peer support role. ARTS & CULTUREHeritage Emergency Fund Summary

The Heritage Emergency Fund wants to safeguard heritage sites and organisations that the National Lottery Heritage Fund have previously invested in to ensure they are not lost to the public. The fund will cover costs associated with re-opening, as well as costs of preparing for recovery including strategic reviews of business models, operating plans and business plans, and investment to enable digital delivery of services. COMMUNITIESAustin and Hope Pilkington Trust

Summary

The Trust gives grants to registered charities that work in the UK. They focus on specific priorities every year. Check the website for full details on eligibility. 2020 categories are: Grant rounds 1 and 2 - Music and the Arts; Grant rounds 3 and 4 - People aged 60 and over. 2021 categories are: Grant rounds 1 and 2 - Homelessness; Grant rounds 3 and 4 - Refugees and Asylum Seekers.

CSGN - Growing Food Together Fund

Summary

Applications are open to the CSGN Growing Food Together Fund for projects that bring communities together to enjoy the benefits of growing fruit and vegetables. The fund aims to foster community engagement in growing and learning about food, and promote healthy eating and outdoor exercise. Projects could include elements of growing projects that involve; the installation of physical infrastructure, materials and equipment, soil analysis, site feasibility

or design work, and non-site based projects.

Summary

The scheme is designed to support charities registered and operating in the United Kingdom, especially those working at grass roots and local community level, in any field, across a wide range of activities. The focus will be to make one-year grants only to cover core costs or essential equipment, to enable ongoing service provision, homeworking, or delivery of online digital services to charities that can show financial stability. The priority will be to support local charities still active in their communities which are currently delivering services to the young, vulnerable, elderly, disadvantaged or the general community either directly or through online support if possible.

Paths for All - Smarter Choices Smarter Places Fund

Summary

The Smarter Choices, Smarter Places (SCSP) Open Fund aims to encourage people to change their behaviours to walk or cycle as part of their everyday short journeys. Grants are available to encourage people to use buses and community car clubs for longer journeys; walking and cycling for short journeys, and home-working to replace daily commutes. An innovation for 2020/21 is the introduction of grants for organisations that want to introduce home-working into their organisations to make it easier for people to reduce their commute.

National Voluntary Youth Organisations Support Fund

Summary

This fund has been set up by the Scottish Government to support National Voluntary Youth Organisations to contribute to the achievement of the National Youth Work Strategy 2014-2019 ambition that “All young people, in every part of Scotland, should have access to high quality and effective youth work practice.” Applications must demonstrate that the proposed activity will lead to one or more of the following outcomes being achieved: improved support and engagement of volunteers; increased access to workforce development opportunities for paid staff and/or volunteers; increased access to leadership development opportunities for senior managers and/or senior volunteers; improved strategic leadership; improved communication and partnerships with local authorities supporting the delivery of the national outcomes for young people.

Community FundThe Co-op Local Community Fund gives money to local causes, helping to bring people together and make a difference. To apply to be a Co-op cause you must have a project or event in mind that meets the Co-op's values, takes place or will still be running after November 2021 and benefits your local community. They give preference to projects run by small, local organisations that make a real difference to people in their community.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Local Energy Scotland - CARES Capital Fund

Summary

Capital funding can be used for renewable energy measures like installation of solar PV panels, energy storage batteries, or for ancillary measures that support the installation of heat pumps. For capital projects, CARES grants are expected to form part of the project’s funding package i.e. up to a maximum of 60% with other loans, community shares, and bonds making up the balance.

Summary

The Scottish Government’s CARES Development Loan provides funding of up to £150,000, to support the development of locally-owned renewable energy projects which provide wider community benefit. Loan finance will be available to cover the development (high risk) stages of the project which is widely seen as a development barrier to community groups and smaller businesses who would otherwise wish to develop a project. Community Benefit is central to the aims and objectives of this programme. All projects must commit to following the Scottish Government’s Good Practice Principles for community benefits.

Community and Renewables Energy Scheme (CARES)

HEALTH & WELLBEINGMiss Agnes H Hunter's Trust - Main Grant Programme

Summary

The Agnes Hunter Trust was established to support registered charities delivering health and social welfare projects in Scotland. Applications must fit within one of the two policy areas: charities that help disabled people such as those living with learning disabilities, mental ill health, specific types of cancer, cerebral palsy, autism, visual or physical impairments; charities that assist with the education and training of disadvantaged people aged 16 years or over who have left school. This includes those whose life experiences or environment have so far denied them opportunities to develop the skills to support themselves and contribute positively to society. Priorities for the Trust include services or projects that focus on self-management and awareness; advice, support and information; life-skills training; employability, particularly in relation to IT, literacy and numeracy; helping people participate and contribute to their community.

Next Deadline: 03 September 2020.

Foundation Scotland - Volant Charitable Trust Open Grants

Summary

The Volant Trust’s aim is to support women, children and young people who are at risk and facing social deprivation. It supports Scottish charities and projects, whether national or community-based, which help alleviate social deprivation, particularly supporting women, children and young people at risk. Projects must demonstrate a strong focus on supporting women and children affected by hardship or disadvantage and on tackling the issues they face in order to make a lasting difference to their lives and life chances.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISEScottish EDGE Summary

Scottish EDGE is a competition aimed at identifying and supporting Scotland’s up-and-coming, innovative, high-growth potential entrepreneurial talent. You should have an ambitious growth strategy and a commitment to deliver upon it. You must be head-quartered in, or relocating to, Scotland and aiming to attain at a minimum £200K of increased sales over the next three years.
