California School Dashboard – Coordinator of Assessment and Accountability Gerald McMullin provided an overview of the State's accountability and continuous improvement system, the California School Dashboard. Included was information on the state indicators and the various types and levels of information available on the caschooldashboard.org website. Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for DHS Engineering & Science Building Project - Chief Facilities Operations Officer Bert Contreras explained the work done in consideration of adding a parking lot to the site and the associated traffic flow, pedestrian access and crossing, etc. Also discussed was the involvement of DHS staff to ensure that the site's needs will be met with the project, including comments from DHS science teacher Brad Vereen regarding the development of educational specs. The final EIR is expected to be presented to the Board on January 22, 2019 for approval. Child Nutrition Rental of Freezer – Board approved a rental agreement for a freezer needed by the Child Nutrition program.

Low Voltage System Repairs – Board approved the hiring of Itech Solutions and Magnetar.us, Inc. to perform the maintenance and repair of low voltage systems throughout the District, in the approximate amount of $80,000 ($40,000 each).Custodial Services Agreement/Cottonwood Creek – Board approved a contract with 316 Church for the provision of temporary custodial services at Cottonwood Creek School for an approximate cost of $60,000.Resolution re: Mid-Year Revision of Authorized Signatures – Board approved Resolution 2018/19-19 to update the individuals authorized to sign payroll warrants and disbursements (replacing Joe Giannini with Niranjana Natarajan). Elevator Inspection and Repair – Board approved the use of Otis Elevators, Inc., for necessary inspection, testing, and repair to elevators and wheelchair lifts in the approximate amount of $35,000. Increase in Contract with Via Center – Board approved a $45,000 increase in the existing contract with non-public school Via Center for student services identified through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.Contract with Waterfall Academy – Board approved a contract for residential non-public school placement for a student, as determined appropriate through the IEP process, at an approximate cost of $75,000. Parcel Tax Feasibility Survey Results – The District recently commissioned a feasibility study on the level of voter support for a potential parcel tax measure. The results of that survey were presented and discussed, and the Board approved moving forward with the development of a resolution calling for the measure. That resolution is expected to be considered for Board approval at the January 22, 2019 board meeting.Annual and Five Year Developer Fee Report – A report with redline revisions was provided and CBO Joe Sorrera explained that, although not required by statute, a final revised report and a resolution outlining the associated findings will be prepared for board approval. As such, no board action was requested at this time. These items are planned for presentation at the January 22, 2019 meeting.Report from the Superintendent – At Dr. Boozer’s request, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Mark McCoy introduced Max Eissler, DUSD’s New Chief Technology Officer.

Board Meeting Minutes – Board approved the minutes from the November 26, 2018, December 6, 2018, December 11, 2018 (with corrections), and December 13, 2018 board meetings. Personnel Action – Board approved all personnel activities presented for approval, which included four new hires, one resignation, and two limited term assignment (all classified positions).

OTHER ITEMS OF INTEREST

Agreement with William Lyon Homes – Board approved an agreement with the developer of a senior citizen housing development (Fallon 55+), by which the District will receive income in excess of full mitigation should the City of Dublin approve the project. Resolution re: Emergency Work at Cottonwood Creek School – Board approved Resolution 2018/19-20 authorizing the emergency repair work needed to the low voltage system at Cottonwood Creek School without complying with the public contract code bidding requirements. School Safety Contract – Board approved a contract with Crisis Management Solutions in the approximate amount of $36,000 to provide site security assessments, employee trainings and related services.
