1. Serve as a splint i:e reduces pain, control bleeding, protect the healing socket from trauma.

2. Psychological advantage( pt: is spared from inconvenience & stress of edentulousness).

3. Pt: regains function faster e.g: speech & mastication.

4. More compatibility with oral surroundings as tissues have not yet changed position.

5. Less change in facial appearance

6. Natural teeth aid in vertical relation positioning & selecting artificial teeth.

7. Less TMJ disturbances.

8. Easy to refit by relining.
