A CASE OF FRACTURED UPPER CENTRAL INCISOR TOOTH

RESTORED BY FIBER REINFORCED POST AND CORE

FOLLOWED BY FVC.

A 24-year-old male patient Roney Dewan reported to Prosthodontic Department, BSMMU after dislodgement of his left central incisor tooth crown-treated last year by a local dentist, with the complaints of Unpleasent look Difficulty in speech Also patient wants to

restore that tooth.

FRACTURED CENTRAL INCISOR

HISTORY OF PRESENTING ILLNESS:According to the statement of the patient, he was relatively all right ten years back, then he got injured by sudden trauma in the upper anterior segment.Then he remained untreated for the next nine years. Suddenly he felt pain and swelling on the left central incisor tooth.For that reason he went to a local dentist and that tooth endodontically treated and restored with Full veneer crown, which was dislodged last month. Now he comes to our department for better management.

Medical History: Nothing contributory

Dental History: That tooth was endodontically treated also restored with FVC.

Patient’s expectation: Restoration of aesthetics and function.

Clinical examination:

Extra oral examination:Face is bilaterally symmetrical.

No scar mark on the face.

TMJ- Normal.

Mouth opening: 40 mm.

Clinical examination:

Intra oral examination:Arch length-LargeArch form: Tapering.Tongue: Normal.Fractured upper left center incisor.

Diagnosis: Horizontal fracture of upper left central incisor tooth.Investigation: Xray. PA view.

Treatment plan:Restoration of tooth by Fiber post and core followed by Full Veneer crown.

AFTER SEQUENSIAL WIDENING THE CANEL BY REMOVING GP WITH GATES GLIDDEN OR PEESO REAMER .CHECKING THE FIT OF THE FIBER INTO THE PREPARED CANEL.

CONDITIONING THE TOOTH WITH 37% PHOSPHORIC ACID

BONDING WITH MICROBRUSH

DUALCURE LUTING AGENT PLACEMENT

FIBER POSTPLACEMENT

CURING BY VISIABLE BLUE RAY

CORE BUILDUP

THE LOST TOOTH STRUCTURE WAS RESTORED WITH LIGHT CURE COMPOSITE CORE BUILDUP.

TOOTH PREPRATIONWITH ALL AROUND 2.5 MM FERRULE

PROVISIONAL RESTORATION
