A Case of Bronchial Asthma from Suppressed Gonorrhea

A Muslim patient,

reported with

severe

breathlessness.

He was brought

on a stretcher. He

could not even

move.

He was feeling hot,

was aggravated by

cold things

and had marked

perspiration.

He would feel

better after having

warm drinks.

The asthmatic attack was very very bad. The patient was dependent on a number of bronchodilators and steroids. He could not even talk.

The symptoms were taken into consideration for repertorisation with the help of technologically advanced homoeopathic software.

Arsenic came to be the

drug but since the patient

is hot I decided to give

arsenic-iod after the

confirmation of symptoms

from materia medica .

Treatment:

After a few days of treatment

there was only partial relief.

Ars Iod 6 was gradually

increased to Ars Iod 30 & 200.

Follow-up:

Once his friend came along

with him and he said "Doctor

please do something for my

friend Mr Khan." I assured him

I was trying my best. The

friend then told me that the

patient had to stand for the

entire night!

He has been doing so for a number of years! I asked for the explanation. The patient would stand holding the bar of a window grill or he would support himself with his hands on his knees for the entire night.

Note:The importance of history given by a friend and a relative. I asked the patient why he did not tell me about this ever, during the course of his treatment. His reply was simple - he said "I did not think it was important."

Taking the symptom into consideration I typed for asthma forward in search option of repertory.

Treatment:

Cannabis Sativa (6)

2 pills every 2 hours.

The patient started improving.

As per the treatment he started

improving. Patient who was not

even able to move was off all

drugs and was alright.

Suddenly, he discontinued

the treatment. After 3

months, he was brought

again on Stretcher. I asked

him the details.

It was a shocking revelation.

He used to work in docks and

he would get little extra money

because they would steal the

goods from the Docks and

everybody would share the

income.

Extra income means was squandered on extramarital relations; he would have Alcohol and would gamble. From these extramarital relations, he caught

gonorrhea, which was suppressed and he had Asthma.

When he was treated with

Cannabis Sativa, the discharge

came back and was worried

about facing his wife. With such

problem he went to his family

doctor who gave some

medicines which stopped the

discharge – as a result again

he got attack of asthma.

He was brought on Stretcher.

We started with Cannabis

Sativa 6 and gradually gave 30

the patient improved again

scene.

He was brought again after 3

months in bad shape. We

He sent away his wife to her parents for the time being and was treated with Cannabis Sativa 30 followed by one dose of Cannabis

Sativa 200. This cured his asthma and even the discharge.

suppression and

cure of asthma.

LEARNING:

The accessory symptoms in

such a case becomes a very

important symptom for the

prescription.

This case points out how

a small irrelevant information

can make a difference in

prescription.
