Una mañana, el cadáver de un marinero es arrastrado por lamarea hasta la orilla. La vida de Joaquín, un hombre en silla de ruedas, parece estarmejorando desde el día que alquiló una de las habitaciones de sucasa a Berta y a su hija Betty. Entonces ocurrió un acontecimientosin precedentes en la historia mundial: un barco parte hacia lascolonias españolas en América con 22 niños como medio paratransportar la vacuna para la viruela, intentando salvar la vida amiles de personas. Se denominará la Real Expedición MarítimaFilantrópica de la vacuna y fue dirigida por el médico cirujanoalicantino Francisco Xavier Balmis y Berenguer.

David, a young man with schizophrenia, has appeared dead in hisbathtub, in a pool of blood. He felt he was being chased and threatenedby a presence that he was unable to define. Solo, en una casa en la costa de México, vive un hombre desetenta años. Al no contar con el título de propiedad de la tierradonde vive, atestigua con desesperación la demolición de sucasa. Alone in a house on the outskirts of a beach in Mexico, lives a poorman in his mid-70's. With no deed to the land he survives on, hewitnesses with despair the demolition of his house. El verano del año 1962 unos jóvenes valencianos deciden pasarun fin de semana en Benidorm. Tonet aprovecha un permiso de lamili para viajar junto a sus amigos Sento, Jaume y Tomy en cocheal municipio de la Marina Baixa, donde pretenden pasar unos díasdisfrutando del sol, las playas y, sobre todo, de las suecas y susbiquinis. Pero se verán envueltos en un enredo con falsificadoresy policías que los persiguen.

In the summer of 1962, youths from Valencia decide to spend aweekend in Benidorm. Tonet takes advantage of leave from the militaryto travel with his friends, Sento, Jaume and Tomy on a drive to the townof Marina Baixa, where they intend to spend a few days enjoying thesun, beaches and, especially, female Swedish tourists and bikinis. Butthey will be caught up in a tangle with counterfeiters and police chase.

¿Cómo es posible que un camino rutinario, en la propia ciudad, seconvierta en toda una odisea? Para entenderlo, es necesarioponerse en los zapatos de Joel, que una mañana sale de casapara llevar a su perro al veterinario, y al dejarse las llaves dentro,se ve envuelto en una huida obsesiva de sí mismo. Y mientras dadesconcertantes vueltas, intenta deshacerse del perro y vadejando desencajados a sus amigos y conocidos, la verdad de loque le ocurre va aflorando, ajustando las cuentas que tieneconsigo mismo (a raíz de un trauma reciente), que no le permitenatisbar el camino de vuelta al hogar.

One morning, Joel wakes in the midst of the chaos that is hisapartment, and discovers that his dog is sick. The emergency sendshim out his home and marks the beginning of a tortuous journey onwhich he tries, unsuccessfully, to rid himself of the burden of the dog,and to find someone who can give him a copy of his house keys whichhe forgot when he came out. But the real journey that Joel is makingduring his tense, erratic wanderings is inside him, as he gropes for theway out of the dark tunnel in which he has been lost and paralyzedsince the death of his girlfriend.

Una mañana lluviosa. Seis hombres armados asaltan la sedecentral de un banco de Valencia. Six armed men attack a bank in Valencia. The gang has a seeminglycut-and-dry mission: to clear out the most safe deposit boxes possibleand to escape through a tunnel that was dug out in one of the bank’soffices.
