We have a firm policy that we will only serve food in our restaurants that we would serve at home. Our menu items are all made in-house and this is why our food tastes the way it does! We serve free-range eggs from chickens that roam free on the farm and we put a lot of time and research into making sure our ingredients are the very best they can be.

HISTORY OF THE BUILDINGThis fine example of period architecture was constructed to the design of CASELLI AND FIGGIS architects for the intended ownership and occupancy of the BALLAARAT GAS COMPANY in 1870.

In 1901 ANZ bank occupied the building. Later it changed ownership to COUNSEL CHAMBERS PTY. LTD. To become tenant occupied by a Men's Hairdressing establishment.

Due to the likeness in design of this building with others in Ballaarat it is believed that Caselli & Figgis architects have played a considerable role in the shaping of design and construction of early Ballaarat. Of course with every change of occupancy the original building façade has undergone considerable change.

Close co-operation of the now occupant THE PANCAKE KITCHEN family restaurant group with architect R Danvers and Ballaarat based construction company H Troon made it possible to respectfully maintain the unique period styling in its interior and exterior. (Building regulations taken into consideration). By doing so it achieved the desired warm and welcome look that is present in so many of the other Period renovations that have and are currently going on in this beautiful Gold Rush city of Ballaarat.
