PREFACE

Purpose This training support package provides the instructor with a standard lesson planfor presenting instruction for:

Task number: 052-193-3022

Task title: Calculate Timber Cutting Charges

Conditions: In a classroom, given a hand-held calculator and the informationneeded to calculate charges with a formula.

Standard: Calculate timber cutting charges, without error using the six stepproblem solving format.


Task title: Calculate Steel Cutting Charges

Conditions: In a classroom, given a hand-held calculator and the informationneeded to calculate charges with a formula.

Standard: Calculate steel cutting charges, without error using the six stepproblem solving format.


Task title: Calculate Breaching Charges

Conditions: In a classroom, given a hand-held calculator and the information

needed to calculate explosives for the destruction of concrete-slab bridges, concrete T beams, bridge abutments, andpermanent field fortifications.

Standard: Calculate breaching charges, using the formula method or thetable method, without error using the six step problem solvingformat.


Task title: Calculate Explosive Requirements for Road Craters

Conditions: In a classroom, given a hand-held calculator and the informationfor a specific type of road crater at a designated location.

Standard: Calculate the explosive requirements for a road crater to includethe appropriate number of boreholes and sufficient quantities of

explosive to ensure that the crater is made to present anobstacle as specified in the mission directive.

Conditions: In a classroom, given a designated bridge, degree of destructionand FM 5-250.

Standard: Employ bridge Demolitions so that total or partial destruction isaccomplished, in accordance with FM 5-250.

Conditions: In a classroom, given FM 5-250, handheld calculator, and abridge.

Standard: Determine the method of the bridge attack by serial number for the type of bridge to be destroyed.

Conditions: In a classroom, given a handheld calculator, FM 5-250. and theinformation needed to calculate charges with a formula.

Standard: Calculate the charges without error, using the six step problemsolving format in accordance with FM 5-250.


Task title: Determine Bridge Categories.

Conditions: In a Classroom, given FM 5-250, and a bridge.

Standard: Determine the correct bridge category by determining the serialnumber for the type of bridge to be destroyed.


Task title: Prepare A Demolition’s Reconnaissance Report

Conditions: In a classroom, given a mission directive, squad personnel,vehicles, equipment, FM 5-250, and DA Form 2203-R.

Standard: Prepare a demolition reconnaissance report form so that allnecessary information is correctly reported on the DA Form2203-R in order to complete the mission, in accordance with FM5-250.
