My name is Harold A. Meza, and I am the providing this statement under oath in order to provide the truth in response to false statements and reporting made about me. I am a private person. I have been fa]sely portrayed by a former fellow County employee, which has been wrongly reported in the local media without any input from me. I make this statement as a request to that same local media to give my truthful statement the same amount of publicity as was given to the false portrayal of me. Also, I challenge anyone who disputes the truthfulness of my statements as made by me to provide their own statement under penalty of perjury.

1. I am 26 year old college graduate from an immigrant family that worked myway through college on my own. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History fromCal State San Marcos.

2. I began working for County Supervisor Dave Roberts in August of 2013 as anintern. r was a hie to work my way up to he offered in May of 2014 a paid positionand I now am the Policy Advisor/Community Representative. Although I, along withother staff personnel, have driven Supervisor Dave Roberts to various Countyevents, l have never been merely a driver or chauffeur for Supervisor Roberts.

3. I never engaged in any inappropriate conduct, sexual or olherwise, withCounty Supervisor Dave Roberts. Any suggestion that I did is a lie. SupervisorRoberts has always conducted himself with me and with others in my presence in acourteous and respectful manner. While attending a County event rooms werebooked by others that were all double occupancy for those-ttttending the event.Males with males and females with females as far as I know. On that particularoccasion I was booked into a room with two separate beds with Supervisor Roberts.All that happened was that l went to sleep in my own bed. There was no sexualactivity of any kind. It has been said that there was a second occasion of sharing aroom together on a trip to Brawley. That is a lie. I was not on that trip. Also, it hasbeen falsely stated that I was "spoon fedn by Supervisor Roberts. That statement issilly. Let me be perfectly clear about this, I am a heterosexual male.

4. Supervisor Roberts has made it dear to me and others in my presence thatpolitical activity is not to be conducted in the Office of the County Board ofSupervisors. I've never been directed to conduct political activity for SupervisorRoberts while on County time.

This email is in response to your inquiry on the Water Authority-hosted Inspection Trips.

The Water Authority currently has four directors that serve as delegates to the Metropolitan Water District of Southern

California (MWD) Board of Directors. Each year, these directors host tours, sponsored by MWD, called inspection trips,

that provide elected and appointed officials, business and environmental community leaders, civic leaders, media

representatives, educators, and interested stakeholders with the opportunity to learn about current and historical water

January 24-25, 2015 were asked to share rooms. The rooms of the Water Authority's tour guests were assigned by

Water Authority staff.

First Pitch

San Diego County Supervisor Dave Roberts was honored to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the

opening day ceremonies for Mira Mesa Youth Baseball on March 7.

Founded in 1972, Mira Mesa Youth Baseball is a nonprofit youth benefit corporation operated by

volunteer parents. These volunteers work year-round to promote player development and enhance the

game of baseball for the youth of Mira Mesa and surrounding communities. Supervisor Roberts

commends the countless volunteers that make youth sports possible in the communities he serves, and

applauds the young athletes who give it their all on the field.

Your unbelievable dedication to bettering the lives of our County's foster children and enhancing the programs and services the County provides solidifies you are one of their strongest and most sincere advocates. Thanks to the work and partnerships we created, we have been able streamline the County's adoption processes and help over 30 hard to place children find a loving home.

You allowed me to work on policies that I felt strongly about and for that I am truly thankful. Thanks to your confidence in me, we were able to successfully regulate electronic smoking devices in the County's jurisdiction. Through this work, we made San Diego a safer, healthier and more thriving community. We took a stand to not allow these devices to re-normalize tobacco use in the eyes of our children and youth. This is an achievement I am very proud of.

Your unwavering advocacy for those suffering with mental illness is something that I will always admire. Individuals and families have the chance to heal and move forward thanks to your work to implement W&I Code 5270. You have ensured that all county residents can receive the treatment they need by expanding the In Home Outreach Team. Major changes have been made in this field thanks to your passion.

I appreciate the vast confidence and trust you have placed in me. It is time for me to explore new opportunities and I will need to tender my resignation April 16, 2015.

It is without regret, that I have had an opportunity to work with a forward thinking, progressive leader. I remain yours in confidence and appreciate your support for my personal choice to resign.
