Introduction

Antenna Line Devices I Introduction

Quality and cost-effectiveness are two of the main concerns when establishing and upgrading mobile communication sites. Besides antennas and base station equipment, the cabling is also an important factor in terms of investment. The higher the antenna site, the more costly the cabling. One common approach to save feeder lines is to use combiners near the base station and antenna in order to combine different fre-quency paths on common feeder cables and to split them up at the antenna again. Kathrein offers a broad product portfolio to cover all these requirements in mobile communi-cation networks.

When it comes to network quality, dropped calls or decreased data rates should be avoided in any case. An imbalanced net-work can be the reason for such problems. By using DTMAs (Double Tower Mounted Amplifiers), the balance of the network can be restored and optimised.

Kathrein antenna line devices stand for exceptional PIM-performance as well as outstanding weather and corrosion resistance. All new ALD-products are equipped with the PIM-improved RF-interface 4.3-10.

Multi-Band Combiners

Antenna Line Devices I Multi-Band Combiners

▪ Feeder line and antenna sharing ▪ Co-siting of two or more BTS operated in different frequency bands

Auto-Sense Technology ▪ DC/AISG signal is bypassed to connected ALDs according to three different functional preconfigurations ▪ The combiner detects its role in the system and automatically adjusts the behaviour accordingly ▪ Installation mistakes can be easily revealed as LEDs for each port indicate if DC/AISG is bypassed or not ▪ The multi usability of Kathrein Auto-Sense Combiners helps to reduce stock, ordering logistics and number of parts

Dual-Band Combiner

Quad-Band Combiner

Triple-Band Combiner
