Conservation, preservation and scholarly research and study of art, includingapproximately 800 oil paintings by the late Josef Albers and thousands of his otherworks, as well as archival management of his writing, photographs and other relatedmaterials: and various weavings and textile materials and prints by the late AnniAlbers.

Part 1X-A, Line 2:

Preparation and organization of various exhibitions of art by Josef Albers and AnniAlbers: (1) Preparatory work for an exhibition of art by Josef Albers and Anni Albersat the Renia Sofia Museum in Madrid Spain, with subsequent venues possibly in SanDiego, Mexico and Peru; (2) Presentation for a show of Black Mountain College, to beheld the Arnolfini Gallery in Bristol, England and Kettles Yard Gallery in Cambridge,England, including substantial amounts of art by both Josef and Anni Albers; (3)Preparation for a major retrospective ofJosef Albers's art to open in March of 2006 atTate Modem in London England with subsequent venues in Bielefeld, Germany, andat the Whitney Museum in New York; (4) Work relating to development ofpublications and objects associated with aforementioned exhibition; (5) Continueddiscussions pertaining to the loan of painting to various foreign institutions, includingthe United States Embassies in China and Holland; (6) Discussions and preliminarypreparations for a major Josef Albers show to travel in Japan and throughout Asia; (7)Educational activities and preparation for radio interviews associated with all theseexhibitions; (8) Activities related to the teaching of art to disadvantaged children andother student audiences in need of outside support; (9) Management of a visitingartists' program in our guest studios; (10) Work in preparation of re-edition ofJosefAlbers's furniture and Anni Albers's textiles.

Continued development of facilities ideal for the preservation of our collection,maintenance of our archives, continuation of our educational activities, etc., at ourheadquarters in Bethany, Connecticut. Research for several new publications; researchon the teaching ofJosef Albers, including interviews with many numbers of his formerstudents, as preparation for a large book on this subject to be published by PhaidonPublishers; continued support of arts related programs for various non-profitorganizations; support of research on the art and life of Pablo Picasso and on the artand life of Le Corbusier with establishment of a library and archive devoted to thelatter; support of production of documentary film on the art ofJosef Albers;continued work on applications for grant funding for a project devoted to archival

management, with grants having been successfully promised or received from TheGetty Institute, The Thaw Charitable Trust, The Adjuvant Foundation, and The Stateof Connecticut Commission on the Arts; commencement of said archival managementproject, including digitization of our collections catalogue. Continued exploration ofdevelopment possibilities in our capacity as a teaching and research institution.Support of regional and national undertakings on the part of 501 (c)(3) organizationsfurthering, through theater, music, and painting, the goal of "the revelation andevocation of vision through art."
