Load Sensing Hydraulics. The 962Hfeatures a load sensing hydraulic systemthat automatically adjusts to operatingconditions to provide only the hydraulicflow required by the implement forimproved fuel efficiency. With the new Priority ProportionalPressure Compensation Valve, implement control is improved over the previous system – raise/lower and rack back/dump can be operatedsimultaneously and fine modulation isrepeatable for improved productivity.Operators will notice enhanced ease ofoperation, more rimpull into the pileand a 20% increase in lift force.

Electrohydraulic Implement Controls.Finger Tip Electro hydraulic implementcontrols on the 962H provide theoperator with responsive, smooth andprecise control of bucket and lift arms. The implement control console alsofeatures a Forward/Neutral/Reverseswitch allowing easy and fast directionalchanges that helps reducing cycle times.

The standard programmable automatickick-outs provide flexibility andproductivity for precise load and dumptarget heights. Tilt, lift and return-to-digkickouts are set by positioning thebucket or work tool and setting a rockerswitch in the cab.

Constant Horsepower. On manycompetitive machines, gross horse-power is constant, meaning that netengine power available for actual work will vary based on demands made from parasitic sources, such as air conditioning or cooling fans. The Cat C7 engine is electronicallyconfigured to provide constant nethorsepower at full parasitic loadenhancing productivity and improvingfuel efficiency.

Separated Cooling System. Manycompetitive loaders use cooling systemsthat pull air in from the sides, throughthe engine compartment and exhaust itout the rear of the machine. The 962Hcooling system is isolated from theengine compartment by a non-metallicshield. The hydraulically driven, variable speed fan draws in clean airfrom the rear of the machine andexhausts it out the sides and top of thehood. The end results are optimalcooling efficiency, increased fuelefficiency, less radiator plugging andreduced operator sound levels.

Planetary Power Shift Transmission.Increases number of cycles per hour. The electronic planetary power shifttransmission with automatic shiftcapability is designed, developed and built by Caterpillar. The controlled powershift transmission allows full power, veryresponsive directional changes that have adirect impact on machine cycle times andproductivity. The operator can choosebetween manual or autoshift modes.

Variable Shift Control. Match transmissionshifting patterns to machine applicationrequirements. Variable Shift Control(VSC) improves shift quality and fuelefficiency in certain applications byallowing the transmission to upshift atlower engine RPMs.

Ride Control. The optional Ride ControlSystem improves ride, performance andload retention when traveling over roughterrain. Operators gain confidence movingat higher speeds in load and carryoperations decreasing cycle times andincreasing productivity.
