What is the Mouse Squad?

A group of students trained to manage a student-run help desk in a school – where students fix and maintain computers and technology. It is a program that provides students with experiences and information about the world of work, especially with respect to IT careers.

The MOUSE Method for Troubleshooting:

U.M.C.H.S.

Computer problems usually fall into one of five categories: (U) – user problem; (M) – mechanics problem; (C) – configuration problem; (H) – hardware problem; or, (S) – software problem. We call these problem areas: U.M.C.H.S (pronounced “Um-Chuss”). Remembering U.M.C.H.S when you are troubleshooting helps you to be an organized and efficient problem-solver.
