Depart Sydney to Tel Aviv, ISRAEL via Bangkok. Meals on flight.

MONDAY 2nd FebruaryMONDAY 2nd February

Early morning arrival into Tel Aviv. Met by Inner Faith Travel representative and, on the way to our hotel, visit the old city of Joppa, followed by a day of rest and recreation after the long flight. Options to rest, swim in the Mediterranean Sea, or just take a walk. Overnight Tel Aviv. (Meals in flight-D)

TUESDAY 3rd FebruaryTUESDAY 3rd February

Travelling north today we will visit the ancient sea-port of Caesarea, the site of Herod’s Palace, home of Cornelius and where Paul was brought to trial. Afterwards, we travel to the Crusader Capital Ancient Acco or Acre as it is known today, stopping off at Haifa along the way. Overnight Acco. (B-D)

WEDNESDAY 4th FebruaryWEDNESDAY 4th February

We spend the morning in Acco, a UNESCO world heritage site because of the amazing Crusader underground city that is slowly being revealed. There is a very colourful and authentic market and fishing port with lots of character. Visit to the Turkish Bath House with sight and sound show. We journey a little further north to take the cable car down the cliff face to the grottos at Rosh Hanikra. Overnight Acco. (B-D)

THURSDAY 5th FebruaryTHURSDAY 5th February

We travel to Mount Carmel and Muhraqa, where Elijah called down fire from Heaven to defeat the prophets of Baal. Passing through the Megiddo Valley, we see the large plain where the final battle of Armageddon is prophesied to take place and visit Tel Megiddo a city of Solomon. Our journey then takes us to Nazareth where Jesus grew to manhood visiting the Church of Annunciation, (Luke 1:26-38) which covers the boyhood home of Jesus. We spend time at Nazareth Village recreating village lifestyle during the time of Jesus experiencing the Nazareth Jesus knew! From there we will visit the Mount of the Precipice where Jesus was driven by the crowd. (Luke 4:16-30) Continuing on as we round the crest of a hill the SEA OF GALILEE unfolds in a breathtaking panoramic scene before our eyes.Overnight Galilee. (B-D)

FRIDAY 6th FebruaryFRIDAY 6th February

Today, we explore this historical area of Galilee. Our special traditional sailing vessel will take us across the Sea of Galilee, stopping in the middle for a time of reflection and worship. We disembark at Nof Ginnosar a kibbutz located on the shores of the Galilee where we will see the remains of a boat from the time of Jesus. Arriving later to CAPERNAUM, the city of Jesus, we visit the ruins of the synagogue where Jesus performed many miracles.

We will visit ST PETER’S PRIMACY CHURCH. You will see the new excavations of ST PETER’S house and visit TABGHA, where Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed the multitudes. Later we ascend to the top of the MOUNT OF BEATITUDES, where we will read the Sermon on the Mount. Enjoy a St Peter’s Fish lunch in a restaurant by the Sea of Galilee. Overnight Galilee. (B-D)

SATURDAY 7th FebruarySATURDAY 7th February

Departing from Tiberias we travel north climbing the heights of the Galilee to the centre of Jewish Kabbalah and mysticism, Safed. Stroll through the streets at leisure to visit ancient Synagogues and the many studios featuring the work of famous Israeli artists. We continue to the source of the Jordan River on the slopes of Mt Hermon where St Peter made his confession at CAESAREA PHILIPPI. We also make a visit to Banias.

Before returning to our hotel we will drive up to the Golan Heights where miracles took place in the Six Day War of 1967. Overnight Galilee. (B-D)

SUNDAY 8th FebruarySUNDAY 8th February

Today we travel south, following the Jordan Valley to the Decapolis city of Beit-Shean where King Saul’s body was hung on the walls of the city. Continue on to visit the ancient city of Jericho and then to the baptismal site of John the Baptist before travelling along the Dead Sea, visiting Ein Gedi and Qumran on our way to our resort hotel where we will ‘float’ in the Dead Sea.Overnight Dead Sea. MONDAY 9th FebruaryMONDAY 9th February

This morning we ascend by cable car the mighty fortress of MASADA, built by King Herod, the site of the last heroic 3-year stand of 960 Jewish defenders against the Roman Empire. From its heights we enjoy tremendous views of Jordan and the Dead Sea.

From here we travel west to Beer Sheva and visit the Park of the Australian Soldier, the British Cemetery where Australian, New Zealand and British soldiers lay at rest together, Tel es Saba where the NZ Mounted Rifles and some Australians took the high place, Chauvel’s Hill from where we can view the plain where the 800 Australian Light horsemen rode into history with their famous charge and the Biblical site of Abraham’s well.Overnight Beer Sheva. This morning make the short journey to Bethlehem to visit the Church of Nativity. En route, see Rachel’s Tomb and spend some special moments in the Shepherds Fields. Time in Bethlehem, at the Three Arches Souvenir Shop, for some good souvenir shopping. Driving towards Jerusalem we will stop on Mt Scopus to see the incredible view of the Old City and visit the British War Cemetery there. Lunch at Yad Vashem and spend the remainder of our day at this very moving Memorial to the lives taken during the Holocaust.

Optional: Go to King of Kings Church for Praise Jerusalem in the evening. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

A full day of touring Old Jerusalem including the Church of the Ascension at Bethany, Mount of Olives, Palm Sunday Road, and the Garden of Gethsemane. Enter into the Old City through Lion’s Gate visit the Pools of Bethesda, St. Anne’s Church and the Antonia Fortress. Walk the Way of the Cross along the Via Dolorosaand visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. From there we walk to Christ Church at Jaffa Gate. Optional evening visit to the Herodian Tunnel, site of a scale model of the Temple Mount. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

THURSDAY 12th FebruaryTHURSDAY 12th February

Tour the new city of Jerusalem including the Menorah and the Knesset, Israel’s parliament building. See the Model City of Jerusalem in the time of Jesus and the Shrine of the Book, (housing fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls) at the Israel Museum. Visit Mount Zion, the Upper Room and King David’s Tomb. In the Jewish Quarter we pray at the Western Wall. Security permitting, ascend the Temple Mount to the Dome of the Rock. See the newly restored Hurva Synagogue, the Cardo, recreated implements of worship at the Temple Institute and the Burnt House. Jerusalem Light and Sound Show in the evening. Overnight Jerusalem. Morning visit to the Garden Tomb. Pastor Kathy will lead Communion at an open air altar beside the Garden Tomb. The serenity of this place makes it a spiritual oasis within this bustling city. We visit the City of David archaeological site and for the adventurous an opportunity for underground exploration through Hezekiah’s Tunnel exiting at the Pool of Siloam. Free afternoon to enjoy a visit to the Citadel of David Museum or walk on the walls of the old city of Jerusalem. Western Wall Tunnels. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)
