Door closers shall be 8800 series. Closers shall be multi-size with spring power adjustment from sizes 2 to 5. Closers shall be non-handed, surface mounted, rack and pinion type with cast aluminum alloy housing and project no more than 3” (76 mm) from the door surface. Closer shall have two separate valves to control sweep and latch speeds. Closers shall have an independent valve to control the adjustable cushioning backcheck. Brackets shall be supplied to permit regular, tob jamb or parallel arm installation. Closers shall be supplied with all necessary mounting fasteners. Closers shall be cULus listed and conform to ANSI/BHMA A156.4 Grade1. Adjustable power shoe shall allow ±7.5% power adjustment. OPTIONAL: All closers shall be barrier free “8800 BF” multi-size with spring power adjustment from sizes 1 to 4 and shall have an independent valve to control delayed action.
