The Elder Rights Project is a collaboration between Legal Action of Wisconsin and Wisconsin Judicare. We provide FREE legal assistance to secure safety, stability, and independence for elder abuse victims. ERP is funded by fines and fees paid by people convicted of crimes.

Our team of lawyers and paralegals are conveniently located in offices throughout Wisconsin, including Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, La Crosse, Oshkosh, Racine and Wausau. ERP staff work tirelessly to resolve the critical civil legal needs of elder abuse victims through legal representation, advice, advocacy, information, and referrals. If a victim can’t come to one of our offices, we will make every effort to do a home visit or meet at another safe location.

Elder Abuse includes:

n Physical, sexual, and emotional abuse

n Identity theft n Financial exploitation n Stalking/harassment n Neglect

What is the Elder Rights Project?

Who Should Call?We encourage elder abuse victims to call us or come to our offices themselves. Victims must give us specific permission before we will discuss their cases with friends or relatives.

If you know a victim of elder abuse who needs our help, please have him or her contact us.

If you are contacting the Elder Rights Project on behalf of an elder abuse victim, you must provide a financial Power of Attorney or other legal guardianship document proving that you have the authority to act on that victim’s behalf.

These rules are designed to protect clients’ interests and are strictly followed.
